Chapter 240
And how exactly did she escape?!”

Siobhan trembled at the sound of Sabine’s voice. It was low, dangerous, deadly and with the look on her face, she feared for her life.
Sabine had arrived unexpectedly and she had been burdened with telling her the truth. That Astor had escaped, under her own watch.
It was an honest mistake on her part. She had overestimated her potion’s potency and thought the after effects would last longer, but she had arrived back
to the room to deliver a sedative and found the room empty. The only evidence of the escape was the tampered windowsills. At that point she was already trembling.
She had alerted the rest of Sabine’s wolves and they had set out to find her but they came back with nothing. She must have left hours ago.
A mistake Siobhan wouldn’t have made if she wasn’t frolicking in the sheets with the guards. Of course she wasn’t going to tell Sabine that, but Sabine
really wasn’t going to accept any excuse of hers.
“The window..”
She answered and Sabine shook her head.
“And what were you doing then?!”
Siobhan sighed.
“I went out for a few minutes to relieve myself and I came back to an empty room.”
She lied. Sabine caught the lie but decided to ignore it. Siobhan was scared enough to make Sabine sure of her innocence. She wouldn’t have let Astra
escape, but she had been negligent. It didn’t make her any less angry but she wasn’t itching to get rid of her yet. The witch was still useful.
But Astra leaving posed a new issue. One of which was how she could lead Gabriel and Lori towards her. That was what she had to be careful with.
Sabine sighed.
“Have they found her yet?!”
Siobhan shook her head,
“No. They haven’t. They say she might be in hiding, so it is possible she isn’t far off. Unless she has friends around I doubt she’d be able to survive without making a fuss. I have ears and eyes all over the city.”
Sabine nodded.
‘We’ll talk about that little inconvenience later. I
thing you must do.”
‘What’s that?!”
Siobhan asked in surprise. She wasn’t

Chapter 240
Siobhan suspected she had bigger issues to worry about, that was why she wasn’t making such a fuss about the missing nephilim.
Siobhan was curious and frightened about it.
“The boy. I want him tested, I want to know what he can do.”
Siobhan was aware of the little boy Sabine kidnapped and even though they were all on the same roof, she had not really set her eyes on him. Sometimes she would hear a baby’s cry and most times she would hear nothing. The boy and whoever was taking care of him were sequestered in a room, kept away from sight and the door to their room was always guarded. Once in a while some wolves would run errands for the woman in the room and come back with bags of supplies. But that was all she had been allowed to see really, nothing more.
She had never been invited into the room.
“Tested?!”
Sabine nodded.
“His blood. I want to know how capable it is. Can you do that?”
“He’s a baby…”
Siobhan weakly protested.
And?! It’ll just be a few drops of blood… I think.”
Siobhan wiped the sweat forming on her brow, this wasn’t in the plan and she felt mildly uncomfortable testing a baby, despite the numerous experiments
she had done, kids were always oddly enough off limits.
“Is it necessary?”
