She asked and Lori was taken aback by the question. She was tempted to answer that she was Gabriel’s girlfriend but that sounded petty. Especially since
she had told her she was Gabriel’s staff earlier.
‘I told you. I work here.”
Kate nodded.
‘Yea. I know. But what exactly do you do here?”
“I’m the nanny.”
She answered and Kate nodded.
Ohhh. I see… I didn’t know Gabriel’s daughter has a nanny.”
“Well now you know.”
Kate sighed.
After a while she rose from the sofa and grabbed her handbag.
‘I’ll leave. Just like you want me to.”
Lori nodded.
‘I’ll walk you to the door.”
She walked Kate to the door, then stood in front of the door and watched her walk all the way to the gate where her car was parked outside in front of the
gate.
Lori stayed there until she saw the headlights come on and the engine roar to lif
Then her car drove away and she sighed.
After watching the car leave, she walked straight to the pool house.
It took more than a few knocks but Elliot finally opened the door. Shirtless as always.
‘What?!”
He groaned in her face and Lori glared at him.
‘Sleeping so early?’
She asked and he shrugged.
I’ve had a long day.”
“Yea. Doing nothing.”

She snorted.
Elliot rolled his eyes.
“Can you get to the point of why you’re here please?”
‘Anyways, I just called Gabriel and he said Tony’s missing.”
Elliot’s face paled.
“What?!”
“Yes. It’s bizzare. And Gabriel seems to think he’s in danger so he’s working late.
“Wha- What?!”
Elliot was stammering now.
‘Are you serious?!”
He asked and Lori nodded.
“I am. By the way can you help me set up the security system? I don’t know how it works.”
She said and he nodded, for some reason his eyes looked dazed, Lori couldn’t understand why.
The news must have come as a shock to him.
‘Yea. Yes.
He replied.
‘Let me go get a shirt.”

As he stumbled back into the pool house and gently closed the door shut, Elliot as shaking slightly.
Could it be him? Could he have been the reason Tony was missing? Was he stupi to have met with his brother three days ago?
He didn’t want to. But his curiosity had gotten the worse of him. He received anonymous text from someone claiming to be Lyle. His brother, he wanted
to check it out to see if it was true and it was.
Elliot knew his brother was still alive. He had always known but he kept it secret for so long, for all those years he had swallowed that truth.
He didn’t know why he did it. Part of him craved Gabriel’s approval and Elliot w sure he would do anything to make Gabriel fully trust him, but nevertheless he held on to that piece of truth for years. Maybe that was why, mae that was why Gabriel never fully trusted him.
He was right not to. Because now he has not only put Tony’s life in danger, he also put Lori’s.
He had been stupid to believe that his brother had turned a new leaf. Just like he believed him three years ago when he saw him in New Orleans.
When Lyle kept asking him questions about how he was living and the people he was living with, he had no idea he was trying to get to know Gabriel’s staff. He thought the only thing he had to hide was Gabriel’s location. But he was fool.

Chapter 99
Tony was the weak link. Tony would talk. Tony was the staff with more to lose than any other staff. And worse, Tony didn’t take the blood oath.
Even he had not taken the blood oath. Gabriel never offered. And he never asked.
And now Tony was paying for his foolishness.
