Chapter 329
Since Sven had put it that way, Nicole laid out the plan she and Zeph had worked out.
“We won’t have any direct contact with Seaborn Base. You’ll handle the transfers in batches. The cruiser has to be anchored at the designated waters, and someone will take it over when the time comes. Also, we want two containers of fresh seafood as a finder’s fee. What do you think?”
They would start by handing over two insulin pens. Seaborn Base would place the containers at the agreed location.
Once Nicole confirmed receipt, she would give another fourteen pens, then head to the designated waters to take possession of the cruiser.
The next morning at 10 a.m., after the cruiser was secured, the final fourteen pens would be delivered.
Throughout the deal, Seaborn Base wasn’t allowed to send anyone to track them. If they broke that condition, the trade would be canceled.
There was always risk in business. Sven couldn’t help but admire how cautious they were.
“Alright. I’ll talk to them and get back to you.”
Before leaving, he added, “Don’t worry. Ever since I met you two, I’ve been a lot more careful. I’m sure no one followed me.”
He could say that, but Zeph still took precautions.
After seeing Sven off, Zeph took Cola out to patrol the area, checking for any signs of strangers near the hilltop
villa.
After nearly two years of training, Cola was no longer just a fighting dog. He had become an excellent tracker, able to follow complex commands. His ability to pick up and follow scents was especially sharp.
More importantly, he had learned to push himself. Even without instructions, he would train on his own.
More than once, Nicole had nearly jumped out of her skin when she looked up and saw him hanging midair in the hallway.
Sven responded quickly. Seaborn Base had agreed. One cruiser in exchange for 30 insulin pens.
Even Sven, just the middleman, couldn’t help giving Nicole a thumbs-up. “You really drove a hard bargain.”
Tomlinson Enterprise and Seaborn Base had fought each other to a standstill, only for someone else to walk away with the gain.
Too bad Sven was only the courier. Otherwise, he would have learned a thing or two from Nicole and Zeph.
“They’re desperate for medicine. I’ll take the two insulin pens first. The two containers of seafood will be placed at the Hollow Ridge Junction at three tomorrow morning, just as you asked. You can pick them up then.”
Nicole had no objections. She went upstairs, took out two insulin pens, and handed them over.
“Once we confirm the seafood, we’ll arrange the next batch of medicine. We’ll set the exact timing after that.”
After Sven left, Zeph took Cola and did another full sweep of the hilltop.
At midnight, the alarm went off.

Zeph woke Nicole, and the two of them drove through the dark toward Hollow Ridge. When they reached a concealed spot, they put the car into storage, then found a position where they could watch the entrance.
It wasn’t easy. They were here to collect seafood, but it felt more like they were setting up an ambush.
Zeph spread his jacket on the ground. “Get some rest. I’ll keep watch.”
Nicole didn’t argue. She lay down and closed her eyes. “Wake me if anything happens.”

Whether it was exhaustion or trust, she fell asleep quickly. She didn’t know how long she slept before Zeph gently woke her.
Nicole sat up and saw lights at the entrance.
