Chapter 330
In the darkness, the two massive containers disappeared without a sound.
After leaving Hollow Ridge, Nicole brought out the battered car. She kept her eyes on the road while Zeph stayed alert, listening for anything out of place.
By the time they made it back to the villa, it was only 4 a.m. The sky was still pitch black.
Nicole stepped into her storage space and opened the containers. The heavy smell of seafood hit her so hard that she almost staggered.
The catch had just come in, and it was everything you could imagine. There was even a shark over three feet long, along with several huge octopuses. Overall, the quality was excellent.
Each container could hold around 20 tons. Just like that, she had gained 40 tons of seafood.
That was a straight-up windfall. They couldn’t finish it in a lifetime. It was more than enough.
After stepping back out, Nicole frowned slightly. “Did Seaborn Base really play fair because the risk of dying is too high?”
“Two containers of seafood don’t mean much to them,” Zeph said. “We still need to stay careful.”
With 40 tons of seafood secured, Nicole was in a great mood. “Right. You’re usually right about these things.”
Zeph laughed. “Usually?”
Nicole paused and looked at him.
He suddenly asked, “Are you ready for…you know?”
They had been together for over a year. Even without much experience, Nicole knew exactly what he meant. Her face flushed at once.
She almost grabbed a bucket of seafood and threw it at him.
At noon, Sven showed up as promised. “So? Did everything come through?”
Nicole had made him seafood boil as a treat. “Thanks to you, Sven. We got the goods and moved them already. Made a small profit.”
The moment Sven caught the smell, he nearly lost his composure. “That…smells amazing.”
Of course it did. Nicole had once worked at a restaurant and picked up a few tricks from the chef.
Sven finished a whole platter and still didn’t want to stop. “The base director tried the medicine. It works.”
Once he was done eating, Nicole brought out 14 insulin pens, “Tonight at nine, have them fuel the cruiser and anchor it at Butterfly Bay.”
Sven took them. “No problem. I’ll handle it.”
Out of goodwill, he added, “I haven’t seen any signs they’re unhappy, but it’s still a big ship. Whoever goes to pick it up should stay sharp.”
It was too hot, and they were familiar enough by now, so Nicole didn’t bother walking him out. She had Cola see him off instead.

The ground outside was scorching. Cola shut the door, then hurried back in, lifting his paws as he ran.
Nicole rewarded him with a slice of watermelon, then turned to Zeph. “Do you think Seaborn Base might try something?”
Zeph thought it over. “Not necessarily, but they might keep watch. Once the trade is done, they could try to track our supplier or even take the cruiser back. We’ll deal with it if it happens.”
That made sense. Overthinking wouldn’t change anything. If trouble came, they would handle it.
This time, they didn’t move right away. They waited until 2 a.m. before leaving the villa.
When they reached the edge of Butterfly Bay and confirmed the dark outline of the cruiser anchored offshore, they changed into diving suits at a distance and swam toward it.
Worried about eyes on the shore, Zeph circled to the far side of the ship, took out a grappling hook, and tossed it onto the deck. Then, he climbed up quickly and quietly.
After making sure no one was aboard, he pulled Nicole up after him.
