The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 335

Chapter 335

The fishing boats were gone. The salt flats were torn apart.

Everything had been wiped away.

Boom!

The waves surged forward and slammed into the mountainside.

They were still miles out, yet Nicole felt as if the spray had already hit her face. Behind the first wave, even taller waves were rising, already dozens of yards high.

“Nicole!” Zeph’s voice cut through the noise.

She snapped back to herself and hurried to open the survival pod. “Quick!”

They climbed inside. Zeph lifted Poppy into a seat and pulled the safety harness tight around her. “Don’t be scared. Stay still and hold on.”

Nicole had just turned to close the hatch when she heard engines screaming up the mountain road, mixed with frantic footsteps.

The wealthy residents from the villas below were fleeing. Some drove, some ran. A crowd surged uphill, desperate to reach higher ground.

The villa Nicole had rented sat at the very top.

“Hurry, get upstairs!”

“They have a survival pod!”

“Move, move! They’ve got a pod!”

Cars slammed into each other as drivers failed to brake. People shoved those in front of them, trying to be first up to the roof.

Dozens, maybe more than a hundred, rushed in. These were people who once lived in comfort, who dressed well and carried themselves with ease. Now, they looked worse than refugees.

“What the hell? Who grabbed me?”

“Help! Don’t push me!”

Hair came loose. Heels snapped. People clawed and shoved their way into the courtyard.

Nicole shut the hatch without hesitation and locked it. She dropped into her seat and secured the harness around herself. 1

“Cola.”

There was no seat for him, so Zeph gave a command.

Cola jumped, pressing against him as Zeph held him tight.

The crowd poured onto the rooftop. They pounded on the pod, one after another. The people in front were crushed forward, their faces pressed hard against the glass, twisted with panic.

One man was dragged away before he could even speak.

The hatch was small. Everyone knew there were limited seats. The only way in was to fight for it.

“Open the door! I have money! Gold, silver, houses, cars! Anything you want. Just let me in!”

A woman lunged forward and grabbed him. “What about our daughter and me?”

He kicked her away. If he couldn’t save himself, nothing else mattered. He shouted toward the pod, “have grain!. Five thousand pounds! No, fifty thousand! Please, open the door…”
