The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 366

Chapter 366

Over the next few days, Zeph didn’t go anywhere. He trained Cola and Poppy and sparred with Nicole.

Meals showed up on time, three times a day.

When boredom hit, they played cards. Figuring Poppy might struggle, they paired her up with Cola.

Unless someone from the base came looking, the four of them didn’t step outside at all.

Before the apocalypse, that kind of isolation would’ve driven anyone insane. After two years of disasters, it barely registered.

These days, staying inside was the real advantage.

Meanwhile, the conflict between Ironvale and Drakehold Base kept heating up.

Felix played it cautious, unwilling to risk what he had built. Drakehold, on the other hand, was aggressive and ruthless, pushing harder every day.

It was easy to get used to comfort, but hard to give it up.

They used to bring in truckloads of supplies every day. Life had been easy.

Now, with the fighting, they barely managed half a truck. The people below were starting to feel it.

These were men who lived on the edge. When things were good, everyone got along. Once things tightened, the complaints started.

They couldn’t understand why Felix kept backing down instead of taking Drakehold out. Some even muttered they might as well hand the base over.

The pressure wasn’t just coming from below. Felix felt it, too.

He knew exactly what his position depended on. Without people backing him, he was nothing. If this kept up, it wouldn’t just be disrespect. People might walk, or worse.

This fight had to happen.

In the end, he chose to move.

After days of listening in, Felix noticed that Zeph hadn’t shown anything unusual, aside from the fact that his nights seemed…short.

For someone so capable, Felix found it disappointing.

Zeph seemed strong on the outside, but weak where it counted. It felt like a waste, considering the woman beside him.

Zeph, meanwhile, felt a little awkward. “Do we really have to do this?”

Nicole shot back, “What else are we supposed to do?”

She had gone through a ton of videos just to find something convincing enough.

They shared a bed every night. If nothing ever happened, Felix would start asking questions.

Was he supposed to put on a show for someone listening in? Even if he was okay with that, Nicole sure wasn’t.

In the end, Zeph gave in, then added under his breath, “Just so you know… I’m not actually like that ”

Nicole got it right away and looked off to the side. “Sure.”

Like he had any experience. He hadn’t even had a girlfriend before.

Back in the room, she had just pulled up the video when someone knocked on the door.

Felix had finally run out of patience. He showed up with food and drinks, even brought a whole roasted chicken for Cola.

“Zeph, we’ve made our decision. We’re going to take Drakehold head-on.”

His tone stayed measured.

“But you’ve seen my people. They’re good at collecting, not fighting. Drakehold’s leaders know how to fight, so this won’t be easy. Any advice?”

They had accepted his hospitality, so Zeph didn’t hold back.

He asked about their numbers, weapons, and the terrain.
