The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 367

Chapter 367

Felix nodded, seeing the logic. If both sides fought to the end, there would be nothing left for him to control. A title meant nothing without people behind it.

Nicole added, “Cut off the head, and the rest fall apart.”

Felix shook his head. “I’ve thought about it. Their boss is careful. He doesn’t show himself.”

Nicole gave a faint smile. “What if you invited him to talk?”

Felix paused.

She went on, “You’ve been going back and forth for days. Neither side gained anything. Keep it up, and you both lose. If you can get him to show up, everything else gets easier.”

Felix still hesitated. “Just get him to show up?”

“Don’t forget what Zeph used to do,” Nicole said, her tone steady. “He’s dealt with dangerous people his whole career. Ambush is what he’s best at. With the right rifle, 3,000 yards isn’t an issue. Take out their leader, and the rest won’t hold.”

That was exactly why Felix had been treating Zeph so well.

Still, he frowned. “Even if the shot lands, what about the scene?”

If Drakehold’s boss dropped, his people would open fire. Felix wouldn’t have time to get out.

Nicole glanced at Cola, still chewing on his chicken leg. “Every meal he’s had, he’s earned. Ever wonder why that bomb didn’t take us out that night?”

That hit a nerve. Felix looked uneasy, but curious.

“He’s a trained police dog. We spent two years on him. He can smell explosives, carry them, and plant them. Whatever we need.”

Cola looked up as if on cue and barked.

Piece of cake.

Zeph laid it out. “You get him to the meeting. Keep his attention on you. Cola plants the charge close to them. I take the shot on their leader. The second shot triggers the blast. It’s the cleanest way to do it.

“Once they’re down, you move on their base and take it. That’s the plan. Whether you use it is your call.”

Nicole added, “If you pass, we lose nothing. If you take it and it works, we expect to be paid.”

Felix studied them. New arrivals negotiating already. That was new.

Still, he kept the irritation off his face. “Name your price. Our base rewards results. Take down Drakehold, and you’ll be well taken care of.”

Nicole didn’t hesitate. “We want a standalone villa. And livestock. Cattle and sheep.”

That caught him off guard. He had expected them to ask for position or power.

“We’re not interested in authority,” she said. “We want to live comfortably. We’ll help when needed. Otherwise, we stay out of it. Does that work for you?”

Felix laughed. “No problem.”

As if they thought they could come and go whenever they wanted.

Once Drakehold was gone, they would be next.
