The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 498

Chapter 498

Groans filled the entrance, but no one answered.

Nicole, Zeph, and Poppy walked away without even looking back.

Weasel and the others had witnessed the entire fight, and their jaws nearly hit the ground.

Damn. That was insane!

Marcus stood frozen in disbelief.

Brighton Estates had people this powerful living here? They were every bit as capable as the special forces soldiers at the base!

What was the point of paying these useless guards if twenty of them couldn’t even touch a single hair on their opponents’ heads?

He kicked the injured guards off the hood, shoved the airbag aside, and tried to start the Maybach, only to find that the engine wouldn’t turn over.

Damn it. The car was wrecked!

His three best armored SUVS had vanished without a trace, and this was his last luxury off-road vehicle. What the hell was going on?

The Karlmann King. The Dartz Prombron Black Stallion. The Paramount Marauder.

Just thinking about the vehicles he had spent a fortune and countless favors acquiring made his temper explode. The Paramount Marauder was the first one in the country, one of the most extreme armored vehicles in the world.

Furious, he kicked the Maybach.

If he ever found out who had stolen them, he would wipe out their entire family!

“Argh!”

Pain shot through his ankle.

Marcus jerked his foot back, only to realize it was stuck awkwardly in his slide.

Damn it. Now his shoe was ruined, too.

Those slides had cost him thousands, and they were his last pair!

He pounded the steering wheel, making the horn blare again and again.

After watching Nicole’s group take down twenty guards without breaking a sweat, many of the wealthy residents were badly shaken. Even the way they walked seemed terrifying now.

Who exactly lived in Villa 50?

The adults were frightening enough, but the little girl looked so sweet and delicate. Who would have guessed she was a pint-sized menace who could leap into the air and kick a grown man hard enough to dislocate his jaw?

They had even crippled one of the Robinsons’ bodyguards, making it clear they weren’t afraid of the Robinsons at

all..

The residents immediately began speculating about who they were and whether they had ties to organized crime.

No one understood how people like that had ended up in such a quiet neighborhood, and the thought of living near them left everyone uneasy.

Still, no one wanted to act rashly. For now, they decided to wait and see how the Robinsons handled the situation.

The wealthy residents had always looked down on the people living in the last two villas, both to their faces and behind their backs, as if their presence lowered the value of the entire neighborhood.

Now, the moment they saw the residents of Villa 50 coming, several of the neighborhood’s wealthy wives hurried inside and locked their doors. They acted as though a knife might come flying through the air if they lingered outside too long.

Back at Villa 50, Nicole and the others unlocked the iron gate, then pushed open the heavy wooden door behind it. Cola came barreling toward them.

They washed their hands and wiped their faces.

Zeph handed Nicole a towel. “Are you hurt?”

“With that bunch?” Nicole didn’t take them seriously. “They looked tough, but they were useless.”

They marched around the neighborhood like they owned the place, but the second a real fight broke out, they folded like wet cardboard. They were obviously only there to collect a paycheck and free food.

It was almost funny. The rich residents contributed that much every month; and this was the best security they could hire?

Making a living off wealthy people really was easy.

Zeph turned to Poppy. “Are you okay?”

Poppy nodded. “I’m fine.”

“Woof!”

The moment Cola caught the scent of blood on their sneakers, he flew into a rage.

They had gotten into a fight without him!

They had spent half the day on their feet and gotten into a fight on the way home, so it was no surprise they were starving.

Time to eat!

Lunch consisted of pork, chicken, seafood, and fresh greens.
