The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 555

Chapter 555

If the Robinsons couldn’t find a doctor soon, their only option would be to fly Marcus to the government base.

But the Robinsons had already left the base, and it wasn’t somewhere they could simply return to whenever they wanted. Even if they made it back, they would still have to negotiate with the officials in charge, and emergency surgery couldn’t be arranged at a moment’s notice.

By the time everything was settled, Marcus might have already bled to death.

Zeph didn’t want Nicole going alone, so he accompanied her to the Robinsons’ villa.

The house was in complete chaos. Before they even reached the living room, Marcus’s agonized screams echoed through the halls.

“Ahhh! It hurts! It hurts!”

He certainly didn’t sound like someone on the verge of death.

This was Nicole’s first time inside the Robinsons’ home. The interior felt like a different world, with soaring ceilings and the kind of lavish decor found in a luxury hotel. Everything screamed wealth, from the enormous crystal chandelier overhead to the polished hardwood floors beneath her feet.

The place was so extravagant that Nicole almost felt guilty walking across the floor in her shoes.

More than a dozen people stood in the living room. Nearly the entire Robinson family seemed to be there, men and women of all ages, each wearing a different expression.

Marcus kept screaming as though he were being tortured, while the mastiff Nicole had just stitched up trotted oyer, wagging its tail in greeting.

No wonder the butler had come looking for her. The mastiff had given her away.

The moment Marcus saw Nicole approaching, he cried out even louder.

“Nicole, save me! Hurry!”

Nicole gave the Robinsons a brief nod, then walked straight over to him.

“What are you screaming for? At this rate, your wounds will heal before you stop.”

Several members of the Robinson family frowned at her tone, but no one said anything since they still needed her

to treat Marcus.

Marcus had been slashed twice, once across the arm and once across the leg.

He must have moved out of the way in time, because neither wound was very deep. Someone already stopped the bleeding and gave him basic first aid.

Jason, on the other hand, was covered in blood. He had several cuts across his forehead, shoulder, and arm.

Even badly injured and pale from blood loss, Jason remained completely silent, his lips pressed into a tight line. He certainly lived up to his reputation as a cold, intimidating CEO.

Nicole asked, “Do you have medical supplies?”

“Yes, everything.”

Peter immediately had someone bring over sutures, surgical instruments, anesthetic, gowns, and other equipment.

The Robinsons were absurdly well prepared. Their home medical supplies were better stocked than those of some private clinics.

Nicole checked the anesthetic and found that it was a newer imported formula with a five-year shelf life.

She asked them to prepare a clean room.

That left one question. Should she treat the man with the more serious injuries first, or the one she owed a favor to?

Then she remembered that Jason had kept his girlfriend chained up and broken her legs.

Nicole made her decision and wheeled Marcus into the room.

The spoiled heir wasn’t exactly a good person either, but Nicole had taken his armored SUVs without paying a cent, and she still owed him for the radiation suits.

She disinfected the wounds and injected the anesthetic. 1

When Marcus opened his mouth to howl again, Nicole warned him, “Make another sound, and my hand might slip into your femoral artery.”

He immediately shut his mouth.

“You didn’t even flinch when you rammed your car into mine,” Nicole said with a sneer.

He seemed plenty tough when he was looking for a fight, but now he was acting completely helpless.

“That was different.”

The pain was one thing, but what had truly shaken him was what he had seen deep in the mountains that day. Without his bodyguards protecting him, he might not have made it back alive.

They were monsters. Every last one of them was a cold-blooded monster!
