The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 108

Chapter 108 Best Choice

Third-person POV:

“Thora, is this your new house?”

Shirley followed her into the villa, looking around with wide eyes.

The house wasn’t big, but it was spotless.

A light-gray leather couch sat across from a walnut coffee table. The design was simple. The walls had hidden storage cabinets; even the lights turned on with motion sensors. Everything looked modern and high-end.

And the place was packed with tech, voice-controlled curtains, a touch-screen kitchen setup, and an infrared security system that looked like something only top wolf packs would use.

This house had to be worth at least a few dozen million dollars. Shirley blinked hard. She didn’t expect Thora to be secretly rich.

“Yeah. I bought it this morning,” Thora said as she put her bags down.

Starting today, she finally moved out of her family’s house. It made her future plans easier, and it wouldn’t get in the way of investigating her mother’s death.

She could hypnotize Laurel if she wanted to, but she needed actual proof, real evidence, and she wanted to uncover who was behind everything.

“Thora, I get to live here too? Yayyy, I’m so happy!” Shirley’s adorable face was bursting with excitement.

Thora only gave her a simple grunt.

Then she suddenly remembered something; she forgot to tell Felix she had moved out.

Just as the thought crossed her mind, she received a call from Felix. He sounded angry. “Thora! Where did you go?! Why is your room empty?! Did Dad kick you out? I’m going to-”

“I chose to move out,” she cut him off.

Felix let out a breath of relief, then his face fell again.

Why didn’t Thora bring him along?

Still, after last night, he had already prepared himself.

Once she gave him her new address and promised she would never abandon him, Felix reluctantly hung up.

Shirley finished checking the villa and stopped in front of Thora with a serious look on her face. “Thora, I’m hungry.”

“If you’re hungry, eat,” Thora said. She was pretty hungry herself.

“But eat what?” Shirley pouted.

That question stumped Thora.

She was good at throwing together something simple in the wild, but real cooking? Absolutely not.

As night fell, a black luxury car parked not far from the villa.

“Alpha, isn’t this the old villa you stayed in when you were in school?”

Carl frowned in puzzlement. This place had been empty for years; why was someone living in it now?

It didn’t belong to any pack, but it was half a mile from Violet Estate. Just a ten-minute walk.

Darius didn’t answer. His eyes stayed fixed on the villa entrance.

A moment later, he saw Thora and Shirley show up with big bags of groceries. Shirley was chattering

nonstop.

Carl’s eyes lit up. “That’s Ms. Green!”

Darius’s gaze shifted slightly. “Carl, do you think Thora knows how to cook?”

Carl froze, thinking hard. “Well, she doesn’t look like someone who cooks.”

Darius considered this. “Call a housekeeping company. Find a reliable, safe, full-service housekeeper. Someone good at making healthy meals.”

“Yes, Alpha.”

A soft look flashed in Darius’s eyes before he finally relaxed. “Let’s head back to Violet Estate.”

He wouldn’t show himself yet.

Darius had arranged for the real estate company to sell this house to Thora at a low price so she would live closer to him.

He knew her too well. If she ever found out, she would pack up and move out on the spot.

Shirley didn’t expect Thora to actually buy nothing but barbecue ingredients. She hurried over to help unpack.

The two of them set up a small grill in the backyard, and that became their dinner.

Aside from the heavy smoke and the food being a little dry and not very tasty, there wasn’t much to complain about.

Right then, a call came in from the housekeeping company.

Shirley grabbed the phone like she’d been rescued. Before Thora could say a word, she answered right away, “Yes! Yes! We need a housekeeper!”

Thora had no objections.
