The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 113

Chapter 113 Last Chance to Back Off

Third-person POV:

Finished

Thora’s curt words made everyone pause and stare at each other. Still, they all understood what she meant

“Is he trying to recruit you?” Harvey frowned.

“Oh great, it’s him again,” Shirley muttered in annoyance.

Hugo really was like a stubborn patch of glue. He kept asking her to join the military before. She rejected him; now he had turned to Thora instead.

If she had known this would happen, she would’ve taken him out back when she was still working for the assassin group.

Ashton quickly read between the lines. “Boss, he wants to enlist you, right? The last time you asked if we were willing to join the military with you, did you already know this day would come? Were you getting ready to become a soldier from the start?”

Thora looked at Ashton.

Ashton was smart, very smart, but he never used that intelligence in the right way.

He could analyze situations fast and see the cause and effect, which made him great for strategy.

But right now, he wasn’t quite there yet.

When Ashton finished talking, Luke stayed expressionless. But Harvey, Felix, and Shirley all stared at Thora with wide eyes.

“Ashton’s right,” Thora said without hiding anything. “But I made one request: I want to take all of you with

me.”

Her eyes swept over Harvey, Luke, Ashton, and Shirley. Her voice was firm and strong. “If you still want to fight by my side, if you want to be true warriors, if you want to become stronger than anyone else, if you want to be my partners and my teammates, my brothers and sisters in arms …

She looked at each one of them. In their eyes, she saw bright, steady flames-belief, trust, and determination. Their gazes clung to her, unwavering.

“Of course, you can still back out now,” she said, her voice echoing through the hall, calm but powerful.

“The road ahead will be dangerous. We may face death every single day. We’ll live in battle. Peace won’t come easy.”

“If what you want is a quiet, comfortable life, if you’d rather just be an ordinary person, then this is your last

chance.”

Thora never forced anyone. She never kept any weakling by her side.

Even though they had fought together and made promises, she understood what this choice meant. That was why she gave them one final chance and tested their resolve at the same time.

Shirley spoke first, smiling with her eyes narrowed into little crescents. She looked innocent, but there was a sharp, clever light hidden underneath.

The other three didn’t even need to speak. Their expressions said everything.

Harvey stood up in annoyance; he stated, “Thora, we already said we’d follow you. We’re not backing out! Are you doubting us with that question?”

Ashton looked upset too.

Being questioned by someone they trusted with their whole heart-yeah, it stung, especially for them.

Luke stayed silent. He acted as if he didn’t care, but the tight line of his lips gave him away.

Thora wasn’t surprised by their reactions. Her voice stayed calm and cool. She said, “No. I’m asking because I know exactly what this future means. That’s why I’m giving you one more chance.”

Then she lifted the corner of her mouth in a smile. Her tone softened, carrying a quiet push of encouragement. “But your answers make me more certain-my choice, and the expectations I have for each of you, are worth it.”

They exchanged looks; finally smiles broke across their faces.

“So,” Thora said seriously, “get ready. It won’t be long before the military comes for us.”

“But boss,” Luke asked in confusion, “how do you know General Stanton will agree to your terms?”
