The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 119

Chapter 119 Three Years

Third-person POV:

“Ouch! Thora, that hurts!” Darius yelped as Thora pinched his cheek hard.

Watching his face twist in pain finally made the corner of Thora’s mouth lift a little.

She climbed off of him, took one long step, and sat right down in the chair behind his desk.

Darius stood up too. He pushed his hair back with one hand, not caring that his shirt was a mess and hanging wide open.

He walked over to the desk and leaned against it, facing her. “Thora, do you think us being mates changes anything for you?”

Thora frowned.

Did it change anything? She wasn’t sure. So far, not really.

Darius smiled at the look on her face. “I think you’re someone who knows how to avoid trouble and keep things in your favor. And being my mate won’t make your life harder. It won’t trap you either. Instead, you’d have access to everything I own.

“In Starlance City and honestly, anywhere across the empire, once people know you’re the Luna of the Nightclaw Pack, everyone will treat you with full respect. Wherever you go, you can pull huge amounts of money and resources anytime you want. So tell me, am I taking advantage of you, or are you taking advantage of me?”

Thora stared at him coldly. “I told you before. I don’t like relying on anyone. And I don’t want to be tied down by a title like Luna.”

Darius understood right away and answered calmly, “The Nightclaw/Pack works fine with or without a Luna. I don’t need you to change anything or give anything up. For you, the mate bond is simply a personal resource bank you can use anytime. Resources that were mine and my pack’s-whatever you need, it’s yours. If you don’t need anything, I stay out of your way. Even if you want to build your pack one day or go explore other empires, no one can stop you.”

At that, Thora’s frown loosened a little.

She didn’t need to pay anything. All she had to do was hold the title of having a mate, and she’d gain access to Darius’s resources and the Nightclaw Pack’s. It really was like having a windfall.

Except, something still felt off.

Darius paused, then went on, “And besides, everyone in our circle already knows about us having a mating pact. You admitted it in front of them back then. Do you really want to break off the pact again? Break-offs twice in such a short time. Hmm, given how the people like the drama, the trouble coming your way won’t

be small.”

He raised a brow and asked, “Thora, you’re the responsible future Alpha of the Silverleaf Pack. You can’t dump this whole messy situation on me alone, right?” He let out a long, weak sigh. “Sure, I’m the Alpha of the Nightclaw Pack, but my heart is very fragile.”

Thora’s mouth twitched. She almost punched him again.

Wasn’t this whole mess something he created in the first place?!

“And legally, we’re already mates,” Darius added. “Do you really want to cancel our bond? Because unless I agree, that’s never going to happen.”

“Fine. Name me your conditions.” Thora’s voice was calm.

She knew arguing was pointless. Darius was right. Once the mate bond took legal effect, killing him wouldn’t even erase it.

And honestly, this bond didn’t hurt her at all. It even gave her some advantages.

But she was never the kind of person who let anyone hold something over her. Definitely not because of

some contract.

“Conditions?” Darius chuckled.
