Everyone else was off for free time. And Tristan, by habit, never trained at this hour.

He wore only a black tank top, muscles tight and powerful, every line showing strength mixed with sweat.

Right now, he treated the training dummy like it was Ashton, kicking it as if he wanted to end it in one strike.

That jerk had fooled him for two whole years.

Out of everyone in Wolffang, he was the only one kept in the dark, the only one who didn’t know their commander was a woman.

And to make it worse, Tristan had spent two years convincing himself to believe he liked Thora for who she was. Even if Thora were a man, he’d accept it.

Only to find out Thora was a girl the whole time.

Thinking about it again made his fists clench harder. He drove another punch forward.

But a strong hand caught it mid-air.

Thora asked with a smile, “Want to spar?”

Tristan’s cold eyes narrowed. He didn’t answer; he simply attacked.

Every move was sharp and merciless, though he purposely held back his wolf power.

Thora dodged again and again. At first, she didn’t strike back at all. She let him attack as much as he wanted.

But her speed was overwhelming. Tristan couldn’t land ven a single hit. Every blow cut through empty

space.

He frowned.

Finally, Thora stopped dodging. She met him head-on,rading pinches and kicks. Each impact echoed through the room.

And strangely, those solid hits felt good. They felt real.

With every strike, Tristan felt the frustration inside his chest slowly vent out.

Thora no longer avoided him. She let every attack fall, king each hit directly.

One punch came flying toward her-full strength.

She looked up at him and actually smiled. “I lost.”

“Boss, are you okay? Did I hurt you?”

“You’ve gotten much stronger.” Thora didn’t hesitate to praise him. There was a warm smile on her face.

Tristan stared at her, stunned.

He had never seen her smile at him like that-soft and gentle.

Suddenly, he felt shy. He looked away and returned a sheepish smile.

And just like that, the knot in his chest finally loosened.

“Feel better now?” Thora asked, lifting her voice a little.

Tristan’s smile froze for a second. His eyes locked on hers, bright and intense. Then he understood what she meant, and his smile returned.

Thora had always liked Tristan’s style.

He was straightforward, bold, and never petty. He noticed details, stayed calm, and kept a few thoughts to himself.

He fought hard for the people he respected, but he also had the ability to stand on his own. No wonder he had become second-in-command.

“I promised you,” Thora said, looking straight at him, and took the lead to mention this. “If you won, I’d answer one question.”

Tristan stared back at her. His dark eyes seemed to glow like tiny stars. “You’re not going to back out?” he asked with a small grin.

Thora smiled too. “I won’t.”

With that, Thora walked to the other side of the room and sat down against a support beam.
