The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 229

Chapter 229 Shared Property

Wendy was speechless.

Even when facing sharp questions from students or heated debates with experts, she had never struggled like this. Not even during high-level art evaluations had she ever been at such a loss for words.

She knew arguing with Thora was useless. Wendy huffed, spun around, and grabbed Ashton’s arm-she even used her hidden wolf strength-but Ashton didn’t budge at all.

Her fingers brushed against the firm muscle of his back, and she suddenly realized, Ashton was no longer the skinny kid she remembered. He’d grown tall, strong, and capable of standing on

his own.

“Mom, go home. I’m not leaving.”

Ashton’s voice was deep and steady. “My brothers are here. My teammates. The friends I fight beside. And what Boss said…” He looked down at the insignia on his uniform. “This belief is worth everything to me.

“I’m an adult. I’ll take responsibility for my choices.” He lifted his head, serious and calm.

“I’ll be waiting for you to regret this!” Wendy snapped. Her chest rose and fell with fury before she glared at Ashton one last time and stormed out, slamming the door.

Silence fell over the office. Only Thora, Harvey, and Ashton remained.

“Boss…” Harvey spoke softly.

Ashton also looked at her, though there was a hint of sadness in his eyes.

Thora stood up. She didn’t say anything to comfort them. She walked past both men. “Meet at the base in two days. We’ll start team combat training. Time to prep for the military academy

exams.”

“Yes, Ms. Green!” both men answered at once.

Thora left and drove back to the villa.

She hadn’t forgotten-she still had a prisoner locked up at home.

By the time she arrived, it was already evening.

The villa door wasn’t locked. She pushed it open.

The quiet felt wrong. Shirley and Felix should be around, yet there was no sound. Even Howard was missing.

She stepped inside-and her eyes landed on the couch. Darius was asleep on it.

Thora walked closer, but her steps naturally softened, almost silent.

He was tall, his long legs hanging off the edge of the couch, looking a little cramped.

She got right in front of him, ready to kick him awake-but his peaceful sleeping face made her lower her foot again.

Her gaze lingered on his face, a mix of confusion, curiosity, and something she couldn’t name.

Darius…

The longer she looked, the more different he felt.

And in this world, somehow, they ended up bonded—official partners protected by law.

Technically, he was her husband.

It didn’t seem too bad.

He really did have everything he claimed-money, influence, power.

And she recently learned a new word-good-looking.

In the apocalypse, she fought every day. She never thought about things like feelings. But she never hid her emotions.

Somewhere along the way, she started noticing him.

She trusted him once she realized he meant her no harm.

And since he was her legal partner, that meant this man was hers.

But that didn’t mean he didn’t deserve a beating.

He kicked Felix and Shirley out without permission, and he let himself into her house as he

owned it. That was too much.
