Chapter 282 It’s Her

Just then, Roman’s earpiece buzzed with the examiner’s voice. “Mr. Adler, candidates No. 9, No. 79, No. 230, and No. 245 lost contact with the tracking system half an hour ago. They were last seen on Route B and destroyed all the bombers. Since they were the first to enter Route B and require evaluation, please confirm whether they’ve been eliminated.”
Being the first on Route B already showed top-notch scouting skills, so of course, they got extra attention.
Since the system lost track of them, the examiners wanted confirmation.
Roman’s expression shifted slightly, admiration sparking in his eyes. His voice was rough but approving. “No need to check. They’re right here. They’ve nailed the first-round test.”
Thora jumped down from the tree.
Ashley landed right after, light as a cat.
The main group arrived at the same time.
“Boss!”
Tristan suddenly sped up the moment he spotted Thora, shooting past Ryan in an instant.
They were the two young men Roman had just noticed competing for the lead.
Ryan hadn’t even realized what happened before Tristan was ahead. He blinked, confused.
What got into him? Did he get some kind of adrenaline rush?
“Thora!”
Shirley also burst forward, overtaking Ryan and lunging toward Thora.
Then Ashton and Harvey rushed forward like they’d lost their minds.
Ryan had no idea what was happening.
Thora had only walked a few steps when Shirley slammed into her, clinging tight.
Shirley was faster than Tristan. But Thora stayed steady, not moving an inch.
“Thora, how are you guys so fast? You’re making me worry!”
Before Shirley could finish, Tristan hooked her collar from behind and pulled her off.
“Boss.” His eyes shone with excitement as he looked at Thora.
“Boss.”
Ashton and Harvey caught up as well. Seeing Luke there, they finally relaxed. Everything was fine as long as Thora and Luke were safe.

Ryan frowned.
Boss? Could this be Wolffang’s Boss, Commander Green?
He instinctively straightened his jacket, ignoring Roman, the chief examiner, and strode over.
Roman was speechless. He’d never been ignored completely before.
It was Ryan’s first time meeting the legendary Commander Green. He felt nervous and tense.

But as he squeezed through the crowd and saw her face clearly, the greeting stuck in his throat. His words twisted oddly. Th-Thora?”
Isn’t this Darius’ mate? And she’s Wolffang’s Commander Green?!
The person in front of him wore black military gear, hair short and sharp. She didn’t look especially feminine, but she was the same girl he’d once teased as a scrawny kid who hadn’t grown yet.
Ryan was instantly flustered.
Thora also saw him, but she wasn’t surprised.
The Astralis Army hadn’t sent just Wolffang.
Ryan was one of their top candidates, so his presence made sense.
She stepped up and greeted him. “Hello.”
Ryan went completely stiff.
His idol was talking to him first, and his mind went blank. Did she even recognize him? So Commander Green was her? Darius’ mate was this badass? He stared for a long moment before finally accepting it.
Ryan didn’t care about gender, but anyone able to lead Wolffang had to be an imposing, highly accomplished powerhouse.
He’d imagined Commander Green countless times, but never as Darius’ mate and Thora-someone-l- already-knew. The contrast was jarring.
Thora finished her greeting. Seeing Ryan still frozen, she didn’t push it.
By then, the rest of the teams were arriving.
Roman checked the time and made notes.
Thora suddenly realized someone was missing. “Where’s Dominic?”
It dawned on her that since they arrived at the finish line, she hadn’t seen him.
