Carlos was also surprised, though he hid it better. “With his skills, he shouldn’t have been hit.”

Roxen just laughed. “Did you forget about something called gentlemanly manners?” His eyes sparkled. “I hope I get to see that junior at the academy. And while I’m at it… I’ll settle the score over my car.”

After leaving the hot spring, Thora didn’t return to her room. Instead, she went to look for Luke.

Not long after, Tristan dragged Shirley back and dropped her right in front of Thora.

Shirley snorted and stormed off to the side, sulking.

“Boss, lucky I got there in time,” Tristan said quickly, eager for credit. “Otherwise, Shirley would’ve killed that woman.”

Luke’s fingers flew over the keys. He glanced up, clearly clueless about what had happened.

He was a total tech nerd and never liked joining activities. He hadn’t been at the party at all, so he had no idea what went down.

Shirley kept stabbing a dagger into a feather pillow to vent her anger. Snow-white feathers instantly filled the room.

Luke coughed a few times as he looked at her. “Shirley, what’s wrong with you?”

She just pouted, snorted, and turned her back, refusing to answer.

Tristan rubbed his nose.

Shirley hated seeing anyone bully their boss, let alone the fact that their boss had just been slapped.

She wanted revenge, but Thora stopped her, so now she was sulking.

Killing someone would’ve been over the line, but for Shirley, that reaction was pretty normal.

Thora frowned and stepped toward Shirley.

“Hmph!” Shirley turned away again.

Luke could tell she was seriously mad this time. She’d need some proper coaxing to cool down.

That was basically a challenge for Thora.

Tristan stood off to the side, watching the show.

He used to dislike Shirley, but after realizing none of them had a chance with Thora, his hostility faded.

Besides, seeing their boss in a rare awkward moment was entertaining.
