The edges of Rovelle City were desolate. As they moved toward the city center, more buildings appeared, each showing signs of destruction. Some walls were still dark with blood that the rain hadn’t washed away.
Just then, a continuous whimper rose from beneath the ruins. Someone was curled up on the ground.
Thora noticed it, but didn’t plan to bother.
Draven asked, “Aren’t you gonna check on it?”
Something seemed to click in Thora. She started walking toward the figure, and Draven followed silently.
When they got closer, the person was still curled up, whimpering.
Thora half-squatted, ready to inspect, when the figure suddenly jerked its head up. Its human form twisted and swelled in an instant. Clothes tore apart, fangs burst from its mouth, and claws snapped out. Instantly, it shifted into a mutant werewolf, its body rotting, eyes glowing blood-red.
It opened its gaping maw and lunged straight at Thora, reeking of decay.
“It’s an Infected!” Draven warned, his voice tense.
Thora dodged immediately.
The mutant werewolf was frenzied. Strings of thick blood dripped from its mouth as it launched itself at them again and again.
Thora felt her weakness clearly. She could only rely on muscle memory to dodge and counter.
Draven was in the same situation, but the Infected fixated on Thora, the trigger, sparing him most of the direct attack.
“Aim for the head!” Draven called out, spotting the weakness at a glance.
Thora spun quickly. As the wolf missed its lunge, she seized the opening, clamping both hands around its head. Twisting her waist, she wrenched it hard.
Crack! The sound of breaking bone echoed as the wolf’s neck snapped. Its rotting body fell with a thud, fur still smeared with fresh blood.
A dagger immediately dropped beside the corpse.
System notified, “Points +8.”
Thora’s rank shot up, and Draven gained two points as well.
Thora grabbed the dagger. “Looks like this one was a high-tier Infected.”
Starting barehanded, this random drop was a huge bonus.
Normally, killing a high-tier Infected gave ten points, but since they were in a team, rewards were shared. Thora didn’t care.

Chapter 331 Leech
Draven pulled up the leaderboard. “The one at the top-that’s your friend, right?”
Thora glanced over. The top-ranked player’s name was “Reaper”. She nodded flatly-it was Tristan.
Shirley was in the top ten, Luke somewhere past 13th.
She, Draven, and Ashley were still near the bottom.
Judging by how fast points were increasing, no one had collected twelve cards yet.
After all, the game had just begun.
As they moved, the surroundings changed noticeably.
Buildings grew closer together, and they started seeing a few more people, though still very few for a city.
This part of the city was humanity’s last refuge in the apocalypse. Survivors were scarce, and in such a huge city, they felt even rarer.
