“First, they want a full report about our fight with the Greywolf at Astralis College that day. Second, they want to know if we plan to join the army,” Harvey said plainly.

I raised an eyebrow. “What do you all think?”

I’d already expected things to come to this point.

After all, the students at Astralis College were the hope of the Astralis Empire.

Ashton scratched his head. “We didn’t hide anything about what happened, but they seemed really interested in you. They kept asking about you.”

Harvey and Ashton exchanged a confused look.

“Well… we haven’t really thought about it,” Ashton admitted.

I said it straight. “What if I want you to?” After a short pause, I added, “If I join, will you come with me?”

They froze for a moment. When they heard the second part, a visible shiver ran through them.

Then their eyes lit up-I could see the spark ignite.

I kept my eyes on Harvey, Ashton, and Luke, waiting for their answer.

Luke adjusted his glasses calmly. “You’re my boss. Once I’ve chosen a boss, I follow them, no questions

asked.”

I gave

him a small nod. That was exactly what I expected from Luke.

Harvey and Ashton both blinked in surprise. They clearly hadn’t known that Luke had already been “recruited” by me.

After a short pause, Harvey spoke in a serious tone. “Thora, do you remember what you asked me after we left the underground black market?”

“Of course.”

That day, I’d asked if he wanted to stay fighting underground forever or do something that truly proved his worth.

“I’ve been thinking about that for a long time,” Harvey admitted with a shy smile. “My dad’s from the Storm Pack Alpha family, but for a lot of reasons, he got pushed out and ended up fighting in underground arenas.

“I grew up training to fight with him. Other than fighting, I had nothing. I got used to living like that-win a fight, get to eat. I never even dared to think about the future. When you asked me that question that day, I was honestly lost.”

He stopped for a moment, his eyes lighting up. “But when Astralis College was attacked, and I fought beside you against those mercenaries, that rush I felt-the fire in my blood-I’d never felt anything like that before. For the first time, life and death didn’t seem to matter anymore.

“I said I’d protect you, and I mean it for life. Thora, no matter what comes-joining the army or anything else—I’ll stand by you forever!”

His words burned with passion, like a burst of flame that chased all the cold out of the hospital room.

Ashton laughed, his voice cheerful. “Count me in too! Harvey said what I wanted to say, but I’ll add this- he’s the muscles, I’m the brains. Take both of us, and you won’t regret it!”

I smiled, glancing at them, my fingers curling without thinking.

“You said it yourselves. No backing out now.”

“Never,” Harvey and Ashton replied together.

Luke pushed up his glasses and lifted his head. “Of course.”

I stood up and looked each of them in the eyes.

These people are my teammates on the road ahead in this world.
