“Don’t make it sound so righteous. You broke my circle because you were jealous of me, didn’t you?”

“No!” That was the truth. At first, he had just grabbed the wrong materials.

Joanna nodded. “Then later, were you jealous of me and told Cedric to ruin my

circle?”

Lucas closed his eyes in despair and heard himself answer, “Yes.”

Joanna sneered again. “You’ve been a captain for years. Did you steal resources for yourself and cut everyone else?”

“Yes.”

Cedric, Bruce, and Neil all looked at Lucas.

Joanna’s voice was as cold as a winter wind. “You’re a selfish, pathetic loser.”

She didn’t waste time. The truth serum only lasted 30 minutes, and she still had three more people to question.

Back then, she could have taken the captain’s position. If she had handled resource allocation, she wouldn’t have pushed for equal distribution. She would’ve focused on snowballing their gains. Like when she suggested renting spatial gear to farm secret realms. Cedric refused, and Lucas rejected it every time.

Now it made sense. Lucas kept saying no because he felt his position was threatened.

Whenever Joanna made a reasonable suggestion, he shot it down. He didn’t want the team to do well because it would make him look incompetent.

Joanna looked at the loser slumped against the wall.

“What about you? Why did you ruin the circle?”

Everything Cedric had said before was the truth, so this was too.

dn’t think he was wrong.

Bruce doesn’t like machines. After your summon failed, you were so nice to us-you cooked, did laundry. I didn’t want to clean, and I wanted to eat your food. If you were willing, why not

you do it? If your summon succeeded, what if you stopped?”

Joanna’s anger exploded. “Nighthowl, heal him. I’m not done hitting him.”

Nighthowl used Lunar Aegis to fix Cedric up. Joanna walked up and slapped him five or six more times.

After calming down, Joanna turned to Neil.

She didn’t even bother looking at Bruce.

Bruce had explained why he forced her out of the team, so the reason would be the same.

And the person she hated most was Bruce. Ignoring him would hurt him the most.

“Neil, what about you? Don’t tell me it’s because you’re a clean freak. You didn’t want to clean, but that wouldn’t have been hard for you.”

Cedric was greedy, lazy, and arrogant.

Neil wasn’t.

Before she left the team, Joanna thought Neil was a bit obsessive and a clean freak, but not as annoying as Cedric, not as arrogant as Lucas, and not as fragile as Bruce.

Neil looked gentle.

But quiet people can hurt you the most.

Neil smiled in a strange way.

“Control. I like controlling your fate. You’re strong and hardworking. Seeing someone work that hard and still not get what they want-it feels good to me.”

Joanna froze.

Then she got

Neil was a total psycho hiding behind a nice-guy act.

He often used polite words to get his way, kind of like emotional manipulation. And because she didn’t have a summoned beast yet, she had always felt guilty.

After that, she walked back to the front of the courtroom.

“Mr. Yarwood, I’m done. Are these enough to file charges?”

While Joanna was hitting people earlier, Wyatt had kept his eyes down and stayed silent.

Now, he finally looked up.

“Of course.”

Then Wyatt submitted the evidence.

Less than five minutes later, the verdict came out.

This time, it shocked Joanna again.

Last time, she was shocked because the sentence was too heavy.

This time, it was much lighter than she expected.
