The Battle Queen They Blindly Kicked Out (Joanna) novel Chapter 181

Chapter 181 The Last Test

Taylor looked a little awkward. Joanna nodded at her.

“You’re strong too,” Joanna said. “If you hadn’t earned so many points on your own, you wouldn’t be standing here.”

“Well, that’s also because you knocked out the other 33 SSS-rank students,” Taylor said. She raised her juice and clinked cups with Joanna. “So, thank you. Sorry, I’m not very good with words.”

Joanna smiled softly. Taylor was still a kid, really. They just came from different worlds. Different views. Different lives.

Dominic gave a bitter laugh. “The gap is too big. No matter how hard we try, we can’t catch up. Take that class, for example. I learn so slowly. My teammates said they’ve already studied this stuff before. Everyone here is a genius in their own world. We feel like we’re just here to fill space.”

“Yeah,” someone else said. “One girl on my team is the daughter of a Star Domain Lord. Her dad is a level 90 professional.”

Julian joked, “People who come here either have no parents or parents who rule entire star systems.”

Joanna thought about the parents of this body. They weren’t gone, but it felt close enough.

At least now that she had risen so high, they never came looking for her.

Maybe they didn’t even remember her anymore.

They spent the whole meal talking about what they had seen and learned. There was no anger, just a lot of sighing.

The gap was a world away.

When two people were close in strength, losing could hurt. But when the gap was huge, you wouldn’t even feel like competing.

SS-rank talents were never valued as much as SSS-rank ones. Even if someone was the best student in their Star Domain, if that place had no SSS-rank student at all, it was still seen as falling behind.

Being outshone like that was normal.

Joanna was different. An S-rank making it into the program was something no one had ever

seen before.

And was she really just S-rank?

Her contracted beasts were seen by the outside world as mythic-level. She arrived with two of them. Together, they were stronger than most single SSS-rank students.

In the end, the ones truly “filling space” were people like them.

Even Katherine counted as lucky. She had traded 200 years of her life for a chance like this. Most of them didn’t have that chance, even if they wanted to.

The five people Joanna chose were mostly support types. Their biggest enemy wasn’t other students. It was themselves. They all had too many safe paths to fall back on.

If they didn’t stay at the academy, any other school would welcome them.

“Ivan, you have to stay here,” Salem said, almost crying. “I don’t want to see you at Voidstar University.”

Ivan looked torn. He was reluctant to part with his friend, but he had no choice.

“I’ll try my best,” he said. “And this is only a short goodbye. Four years from now, after we graduate, I might start my own battle group. When that happens, you have to join me!”

A battle group was bigger than a simple team. As it grew, more and more people would join. In the end, it could turn into a company, even a giant corporation.

Joanna shook her head. Ivan really loved being in charge. If he wasn’t a team leader, he wanted to be a commander. It didn’t suit him very well, but she didn’t interfere.

After their last meal together, Joanna walked a few of them to the portal.

That was their final farewell.

The days passed quickly.

In the blink of an eye, 30 days of the program were over.

On day 20, 40,000 students were eliminated.

On day 30, more than 30,000 more were cut. In the end, only 20,000 remained. These were the ones who would stay at the academy.

But even they had one last test. Their ranks would be reset. Resources would be divided again.

And most important of all-the fight for the top seat would begin.

Last 1est

In past years, this battle was always fierce. But this year, most people felt there was no hope.

Still, the test had to happen.

What if Joanna failed by accident?
