Chapter 22 Offers
“Joanna!”
Joanna stopped in her tracks.
What now?

Glancing around, she saw more than a dozen top-level pros all staring at her. Their eager looks made her feel like she was back when she still had 100 affinity points. Startled, she immediately went on guard.
Nighthowl seemed to sense her reaction. He stepped forward, silver light swirling around Joanna. His front legs stretched, body low-a classic canine attack pose.
His eyes were sharp, full of caution. Feeling the strength in all those people only made him tenser.
If he were his old self, a single swipe could send them all flying.
But now, after giving up energy to cross the circle and bond with Joanna, he was weaker and couldn’t fight like that anymore.
Luckily, no one seemed hostile.

Everyone smiled, especially a heavyset man who shouted, “Joanna! I’m Andrew Cooper, principal of Genesis High! I heard you’re working as a non-student: Want to join our school?”
Joanna raised an eyebrow. She finally realized what was happening.
Every day at midnight, dungeon clear-time records were released.
A nine-second clear was probably too insane.
At last, Jacob squeezed his way to the front. “Joanna, I already know about the unfair treatment you suffered today. Your former homeroom teacher, Drake, has been fired, and the school will properly compensate you. Since your summoned beast is a wolf, we can provide a full set of Iron-tier gear for him. Sounds good?”
Summoned beasts could wear equipment, too.
There were four paw guards, a wolf helm, armor, and a collar.
Since they were specially adaptive items, each piece cost 50,000 to 60,000 Starcoins.
A full set would be at least 300,000 Starcoins.
“Of course, that’s just compensation,” Jacob added. “If your beast has high potential, we can give you a bigger scholarship to help you sprint through this last month before the SAT.”
“Joanna, take this,” another voice chimed in. “It’s Mr. Watson’s apology gift. No need to be polite about it.
“As for whether you rejoin Trinity High, that’s a separate matter.
“By the way, we haven’t seen your new summon’s stats. Can you show us?

“If it’s strong enough, the scholarship could go even higher.”
They all knew her dungeon records had to be because of her new summon.
But they still needed to see what kind of attributes it had.

Joanna immediately felt tense.
Transcendent-level was already beyond common understanding.
Were geniuses rare in this world?
Not really.
Space Alliance existed to churn out geniuses, even pushing population policies to raise the odds of creating one super powerhouse.
But the fall of geniuses was also incredibly common.
Geniuses had to enter the most dangerous dungeons.
Their death rates were the highest.
On top of that, while exploring other parallel planes, those planes were fighting back. Right now, the Space Alliance had enemies everywhere. Tens of thousands of races were planning to take out human geniuses.
So, there was no way she’d show Nighthowl’s stat panel.
“Sorry. I can only tell you that my contracted companion is indeed Mythic-level. I can’t share the exact
stats.”
Joanna scanned the group cautiously, worried someone might have already learned the public skill, Detection.
Just then, Maverick finally spoke up.
“Joanna, last night at midnight, you smashed three dungeon records. Since you’re in Grade 12, Violetlight City’s Department of Education will give you 100,000 Starcoins for each record. And for the next month, as long as you’re in Violetlight City, every dungeon record you clear will get you another 100,000 Starcoins.
“On top of that, I’ll personally pay for a Gold-tier summoner skill book for you. How does that sound?”
The other nine people erupted in shock.
A Gold-tier skill book could be worth tens of millions.
In this world, pros could explore dungeons, but skill books were insanely rare.
At that moment, Bluelight City’s minister exchanged looks with his aides, then gave a bitter smile and shook
his head.
