Chapter 246 Loyal Devotion
“You have contracted Troy. Troy truly loves you. You receive a boon from your contracted companion: Vitality +1800, Strength +2400, Agility +900, Spirit +300.”
Joanna’s eyes flickered.
They settled on the system message.
“Loyal Devotion”
This badly wounded giant dragon actually liked her a lot.
Not dependence born of long companionship, not polite affection, and not possessive desire.
It was loyalty, love, and admiration.
Joanna’s current strength really was formidable. She was no longer weak.
Her newly contracted dragon looked terrifying, but he was surprisingly well-behaved.
“Troy, hello. I’m your bound partner. My name is Joanna Lane. From today on, we’ll fight side by side and walk this road together. I can restore you to how you once were.”
Joanna didn’t hesitate. She still had plenty of affinity aura left, and Troy was well-behaved and hurt, so of course she’d spoil him a little. Soon, she spent 111 million affinity aura soothing him 30 more times.
Thankfully, soothing was a talent that worked through physical contact and wasn’t a magic- type. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to use it at all.
She gained another 1800 Vitality, 2400 Strength, 900 Agility, and 300 Spirit.
Plus, she’d already earned 30,000 free attribute points.
After distributing them, her current stats became: Vitality 25,000, Strength 24,000, Agility 24,000, Spirit 60,000.
And at this moment, after being flooded by massive amounts of affinity aura, Troy let out a low, satisfied rumble, and his distortion rapidly decreased.
His physical body, which he couldn’t compress before, was finally under his control.
Although his memories had faded with long sleep, the instincts carved into his genes, along with his innate control over his body, allowed him to quickly take on Joanna’s race.
1/3
Human.
Moments later, he turned into a dark-skinned young man, muscles bulging, his build hard and solid.
He had short black hair, amber eyes, and sharp features. When he looked at Joanna, his gaze was filled with devotion.
“Ms. Lane, thank you for pulling me up from the abyss of slumber. From today onward, I will serve you forever and become your guardian.”
“Hey, put some clothes on first,” Lucien said, tossing over a black suit.
Hmph. Another rival.
And this guy has zero shame, just showing it all off like that.
A scale-less big lizard.
Damn it!
Lucien was seething inside.
Meanwhile, Nighthowl and Alwyn exchanged a glance and greeted Troy.
“My name’s Nighthowl.”
“I’m Alwyn.”
“Welcome aboard.”
Lucien froze. So I’m the clown now?
With Troy joining, the team gained another member.
Joanna led them back to the villa and arranged a separate living space for Troy.
“Of course, I summoned you from distant stars. At first, you might not adapt well and may rely on me a bit. Don’t worry-while you rest, I’ll stay by your side.”
Joanna figured Troy probably wasn’t an outgoing type of contracted beast.
She planned to take the initiative and arrange his sleeping schedule.
She didn’t like big lizards, but she did quite like dark skin and abs.
Thinking about that, Joanna quietly placed an order for sleep pants, the kind without a top.
Ugh, Dream Invasion really corrupted me.
Next.
Joanna patiently taught Troy the basics of understanding this world.
As for Nighthowl and the others, they didn’t stay long. After returning to the academy, they went straight into the dungeons.
