As for the items inside the enemy’s spatial backpack, since all storage space was created by the Space Alliance system, everything was taken back by the system once they died.

Even most of the dropped gear was reclaimed as well. This was part of the system’s recycling plan, almost like raising creatures in a survival pit and letting them devour each other until the last one survives.

“See? This is what a public dungeon is like,” Joanna said calmly. “There are always greedy people. Instead of fighting monsters, they’d rather kill players. My Spider Lady’s Suit probably stood out too much. They wanted my gear.”

“I get it,” Nighthowl said coldly. “Next time I meet people like that, I won’t hold back.”

Both Nighthowl and Alwyn were angry. They felt this was wrong.

Everyone was supposed to be fighting for humanity, standing together against monsters. Yet some people chose to attack their own kind.

“Trash like that shouldn’t exist in’ this world,” Alwyn said flatly. “They should be thrown into a furnace and burned, so they don’t pollute everything else.” He didn’t just say it. He did it.

Joanna saw that both of them had accepted this reality without hesitation, which made her feel relieved.

She picked up the dropped gear. All five enemies had been level 20, but they hadn’t even fully equipped Silver-tier gear. Only two Silver-tier items dropped, along with eight Bronze-tier

ones.

Public dungeons allowed access to the marketplace. Joanna sold everything on the spot. In an instant, she earned another eight million credits.

No wonder some people loved killing players.

Five seconds. Eight million credits. If she were farming a dungeon, taking Desolate Castle as an example, she would need to clear it at least 14 times to earn the same amount.

The profit was real.

But Joanna would never use this method to make money.

There were lines she wouldn’t cross.

After staying with Nighthowl for a short while, she returned with Alwyn.

This time, they entered the public dungeon called Zombie Base.

It was similar to Broodmother’s Lair, but outside the city walls was an endless sea of zombies. You couldn’t even count them. Worse still, the zombies had their own cities, constantly producing more undead.

The moment they arrived, they were spotted by a SpyBee.

“The target Mrs. Wright asked us to find has appeared.”

“Haha, the reward is ours.”

“Quick, follow them. We’ll kill them inside the city.”

The group followed them openly, driving close behind.

Halfway there, Alwyn sensed the malice of the group.

“Someone’s tailing us,” he warned. “They have bad intentions.”

Joanna didn’t expect that wearing the Spider Lady Suit would attract so much attention.

“Stop the car,” she said calmly. “Kill them all.”

She brought the vehicle to a halt. The taxis, here were fully autonomous and could be stopped at any time.

Once she stopped, the group that had been watching her surrounded them, their eyes full of malice.

“You actually dared to stop? Looks like you really don’t value your life.”

“Little girl, don’t blame us for being cruel. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for offending the wrong people.”

“Enough talk. Kill her already. Didn’t expect her to be wearing full Spider Lady gear.”

“Relax. We’ve got fire magic. If she uses Venom Bind, we’ll just burn the webs.”

This wasn’t an assassin squad. It was a balanced team-knight, mage, warrior, healer, and archer.

They clearly had a lot of experience with player killing.

Joanna’s eyes turned sharp.

“Who sent you?” she demanded sharply.

Of course, they didn’t answer.

She spoke again, her voice cold. “Kayden? He couldn’t accept losing, so he sent you? Or was it his parents?”

Seeing how fearless they looked, she already knew the answer. It was probably Kayden’s

parents.

But sending people like this was just delivering them to her doorstep.
