Chapter 57
After placing our order. I excused myself and slipped away from the table while Raina was devouring her meal. I told her I had to use the restroom, but that was a lie.
I reached the restroom door that was thick and heavy, built to block sound, so I pushed it and shut it behind me, the click of the lock echoing faintly. Only then did I let my shoulders relax, then pulled out my phone and made the call.
The rall connected.
“Queen,” Macron greeted, his voice bright with surprise. “I was just thinking about you. We were all talkin about how we are proud of you.”
“Thank you, but I need help, Maeron,” I said calmly. “I need us to take a case.”
His tone shifted instantly. “Who? Which of them?”
‘Russell Jenson. Beta of this pack. Chairman of the Jenson Group.”
There was a pause.
Then a low chuckle. “That’s your father. Sorry, ex–father. That is a big wolf you want to poke. He doesn’t ›ite gently.”
We saw what he did to you at the cafeteria.”
He has to be dealt with!” Another voice cut in from the background, and I know it was Kieran.
They all won’t stop coming at you. We are happy to hear you want to make a scapegoat!” Another voice narled, and a smirk appeared on my face.
And judging from your voice,” Maeron added, more serious now, “you want him punished for real. No oking!”
Macron knew me well.
When I spoke lightly, it meant I had room to joke, but when I sounded like this, my tone measured and
at it meant someone had crossed a line that couldn’t be uncrossed.
Normally. I never sounded shaken because I had learnt to carry myself like someone who always had claws hidden beneath her sleeves.
That wasn’t arrogance
It was survival.
After all, I wasn’t just Fiona now. In the shadows of the werewolf world, I was known as the Silver Vein Queen–the one who controlled the powerful organisation
“I know what you want to do to him.” Macraon said and took a deep breath. “We will have to talk to the man that controls the information flows between packs, underground messengers, and neutral territortes
He had eyes everywhere and loyalty where it mattered.”
“Yes. Even a big name like Russell has skeletons buried deep enough to poison the soil and force him to anything to hide it.” Kieran added, and I felt joy dwell in my chest.
“So if we threaten him with a dark secret that could tear the Jenson family apart. A secret that wouldn’t ju make them fall, but they’d be torn apart in public that even the Alpha would have no choice but to demo them.”
Gasps escaped my mouth, a sly smile appearing on my face.
“Who is this man that could get this information for us?” I asked curiously.
“Vance, the Lycan king’s shadow guard.”
“What?” The mention of the Lycan king made me flinch. “I don’t think anything related to Lucas will wor because I disobeyed him and…”
Maeron laughed. “We are sorry for not telling you, but Lucas is now our top client, as we have the raw naterial he uses for his drug that is gradually healing him.”
‘He can’t decline our request.”
‘Especially as it is about you.”
became more confused. “I thought he already hated me.”
‘He can’t. In fact, he would be eager to help.” Kieran answered with a chuckle.
‘But I don’t want to have anything to do with him.” I sighed.
His shadow guard would have the secret that would make Russell pee in his pants. I’m sure he even has hat of the Alpha and many other top royal families.”
‘How does he get all this?” I was puzzled.
That is still a mystery. Lucas has these secrets to subject them to loyalty and submission. Let’s hope he will agree for Vance to send us some.”
‘He will. He loves Fiona and would want to please her.” Kieran said with a short laugh.
“I hope so.” I said with a smile.
My life had really grown to an unimaginable level.
The call ended, and just five minutes later, Macron called back, saying he agreed to give some of Russell’s
dark secrets to me.”
I was added to a Discord group by an anonymous and there I saw myself in the midst of the Lycan king
and his circle.
“I’ll send you the proofs,” he texted, my name tagged. “Adding pack witnesses, recorded scent trails and everything to destroy him.”
Finished
Wow.
I was speechless.
Stepping out of the bathroom, I sat back with Raina.
“My condition is simple. Russell apologises publicly before the Council, the media, and every major pack channel. I don’t want to destroy him.” I typed and sent it to the group.
“With evidence like the one I will give you? He will bow.”
Then he sent a laughing emoji and called me. “Queen,”
“Why are you helping me? Aren’t you angry I disappointed you about the dinner you invited me for?”
He replied “Making Russell apologise is more important.”
“And payment—”
“Unnecessary,” he cut in gently. “You don’t pay me.”
I frowned slightly. “Lucas. You’ve already done enough when you saved me from those rogues. I don’t want another debt hanging over me.”
There was a pause.
