Chapter 165
FIONA POV
My phone buzzed again, and it was Lucas.
His message appeared on the screen.
“Your problems are my priority right now.”
I stared at it for a few seconds before exhaling slowly.
Then I typed, “Lucas… my head’s a mess.”
I paused, fingers hovering briefly before continuing.
“Yesterday was bad. Today was better. But I just realised something… My life shouldn’t look like this.”
Leaning back in my seat, I let my eyes drift toward the window. The city lights blurred past, just like everything else.
No matter how far I tried to run, the Jenson family still dragged me back. Like a swamp, thick and rotten, pulling me under.
Revenge felt good for a moment, but that wasn’t life. That was decay.
Somewhere along the way, I had forgotten something important.
My dreams.
Lucas replied almost instantly.
“If you’ve forgotten your real dream… do you want me to remind you?” He sent it with a smiling emoji.
I blinked.
That emoji didn’t match him at all.
For once, the cold, untouchable Alpha sounded… loving and caring like a typical lover boy.
I typed back.
“Yes.”
And strangely, I meant it. A small anticipation built in my chest as I waited for what he would say.
Logically, Lucas shouldn’t know anything beyond the surface, as I had always been careful.
My phone lit up again.
“You once said you wanted to use your talents to serve your pack.”

Chapter 165
Finished
I froze.
For a moment, everything went silent. Like something buried deep inside me had just been dragged into the light.
My fingers stilled and my breath caught. Then his next message came.
“You said your power was a gift. A blessing. You wanted to use it for something bigger that will benefit the whole pack.”
My chest tightened.
“You said it didn’t matter if no one knew your name. Even as an unseen protector, as long as your conscience was clean, that was enough.”
The words hit harder this time. Because I remembered all this. It was my discussion with Kieran and the rest months back when we had a meeting about my powers.
His message continued. “You swore you’d never harm the innocent. Never cross the line for profit and never disgrace your pack… or your land.”
There was a brief pause. Then the final message came.
“Wasn’t that your oath… Queen?”
My hand tightened around the phone, jaw dropped to the floor.
For a split second, I almost typed, ‘How do you know this?‘ But I stopped and deleted it.
Of course he would know. There was nothing I could keep away from him. Even if I had forgotten, this man was the Lycan king. One of the most powerful beings out there.
There was literally no information he wouldn’t get if he wanted.
Lucas had already connected the whole pieces and got it all. Those words were secret, but not for him.
Another message appeared.
“I’m sorry for figuring it all out. But I won’t judge you. No one outside your situation truly understands what you’ve been through.”
My eyes softened slightly.
“All I can do is be someone you can lean on when you need it. I’ll listen and stand beside you. No matter
what.”
There was a brief pause before the final message came through.
“But Fiona… don’t let hatred trap you. You’re stronger than that. You had dreams once. If you’ve forgotten them… I hope you remember now.”
Silence followed, but this time, it wasn’t heavy.

Chapter 165
The storm in my chest was settling slowly.
I let out a quiet breath, a faint smile tugging at my lips as I typed back.
“Thank you, Lucas. I remember now.”
And truly, I did.
This second life wasn’t given to me solely for revenge. It was a chance to start again.
Not everyone gets that second chance from the moon goddess, so I wasn’t going to waste it.
I had people I could call family now. Real ones.
And maybe… it was finally time to find myself again.
My phone buzzed again.
“You’re welcome. If you want to repay me, buy me a meal sometime.”
I let

But still… I could feel that rare, quie piness behind his message.

Clive recovered quickly. “Hey! Don’t twist things. Why would I record her? I’m not insane!”
Then he did something even more exposing:
He crushed his own phone under his heel.
Once, twice and gone, obviously so the evidence would be erased.
Coward. Just like his friend Damon, who would do anything to destroy evidence instead of owning their mistakes.
Raina scoffed and stepped forward, already rolling her sleeves like she was ready to shift into her w right there.
“You’re disgusting.” She spat, and that was when I finally walked over.
“Raina,” I said calmly, “what’s going on?” I asked like I was totally unaware.
She didn’t hold back. “He was spying on you. Recording you like some creep!”
I shifted my gaze to Clive, slow and cold.
I could see him flinch at my gaze, swallowing hard and avoiding my stare.
“Is that true?” I asked.
“No!” he shot back. “She’s making things up!”
I didn’t bother to argue or raise my voice as I just reached for my phone.
“Then I’ll call Andy,” I said lightly. “I don’t like trouble… but I like clearing my name even more.”
That was enough for him to give up.
“Wait–don’t!” Clive folded instantly.
How pathetic.
I could see how fear rolled off him in waves, clearly not for me and not for Raina but for Andy, who coule make him spend years in jail if the case were taken to court.
Smart of him to at least know where the real danger was.
“It was Damon!” he mumbled, eyes lowered to the ground.
Raina stiffened.
Clive kept going, desperation spilling out. “He told me to watch her! He’s the one spying, not me! I just—”
“Enough.” Raina barked and Silence dropped instantly.
Raina looked ready to explode, and I knew if Damon had been standing there, she would’ve broken his jaw without hesitation.
