The Billionaire Heir Fell for the Wrong Girl (Hathaway Whitmore) novel Chapter 173

Chapter 173

Evelyn walked in and knocked on the bathroom door, her voice bubbling with excitement. “Hathaway?”

Hathaway’s muffled voice came from inside. “Stop knocking. I’m using the bathroom.”

Evelyn didn’t blink at that, her excitement still off the charts. “The show we invested in is blowing up right now.”

She hit play on the show, grinning from ear to ear. “Hathaway’s got the best taste. I only invested because she told me to, and now we’re making a killing.”

The two girls who followed her in immediately started squealing, and the three of them plopped down on the couch, eyes glued to the screen.

“Whoa, the male lead is seriously hot!”

“Is Scarlett the female lead? Her acting is so natural, and the vibe is insane!”

Evelyn, sitting right in the middle, looked smug as ever. “If it weren’t for my girl, I never would’ve invested. Now I’m rolling in cash.”

Inside the bathroom, Hathaway’s temples were throbbing, and she was feeling utterly helpless. Please, leave already, she thought.

She couldn’t help but worry, ‘Are they really planning to camp out here and binge-watch the whole show?’

As Hathaway’s thoughts were all over the place, a sudden warmth slid to her waist. Jeremiah’s hand quietly found its way there.

The heat radiated through her clothes, making her stiffen instinctively.

In the next moment, his strong arm tightened around her waist, and with a gentle but firm tug, he placed her on the cool, smooth marble counter.

Hathaway almost let out a scream. She panicked and tried to pull away, but Jeremiah caught her lips in a kiss, silencing her trembling protests.

He kissed her until she was breathless, his lips pressed against her burning ear as he whispered, “Let me have a look.”

Before Hathaway could process what he meant, she felt a sudden chill against her skin as Jeremiah pulled her bathrobe off in one swift motion.

Hathaway hugged her chest tightly, her body still shrouded in a misty veil of steam from the shower. Her long, damp hair draped loosely over her neck and shoulders, clinging softly to her skin.

A gentle blush colored her cheeks and the corners of her eyes.

The warmth and sweet scent of her body wash lingered in the air, wrapping around Jeremiah with every breath he took.

Jeremiah’s eyes darkened as he took in the sight.

He sighed quietly, “You’ve really grown up.”

Hathaway’s body trembled under his gaze, her teeth chattering with fear.

She knew that if she actually went through with it with Jeremiah right now, her situation would be messier than it was in her previous life.

In her previous life, she was Jeremiah’s legitimate wife. Now, everyone would see her as the homewrecker who got between Jeremiah and Jessica.

Just then, over the sound of the TV, two girls’ voices drifted in from outside the bathroom. “Did you specifically go to Mr. Blackwood for help to get this investment?”

Evelyn chimed in right away, “Hathaway’s not close with him. Why would we ever go to him? We had someone else help us out.”

The bathroom was dead silent. Jeremiah looked down at Hathaway, her cheeks flushed and panic in her eyes. He leaned in, his voice low and teasing. “Let’s show your friends how close we are.”

With that, he suddenly turned on the shower and pulled her beneath it. Water gushed down, drenching them both in an instant.

Jeremiah wrapped his arm tightly around her waist, pinning her against the cold tiles as water cascaded over them.

“Don’t be scared,” he murmured. “They won’t notice a thing. But if you want, you can let them hear you.”

A chill crawled up Hathaway’s spine, her face turning very pale as she shook her head with frantic desperation.

Lost and frantic, she suddenly sank her teeth into his shoulder, biting down hard.

A faint, metallic sweetness spread across her tongue, sharp and immediate. She held on, refusing to let go.

It was as if every ounce of panic and rage inside her was channeled into that bite, venting it all at one single, fierce act.

Jeremiah stiffened for a moment, but he didn’t push her away. He looked down, his eyes unreadable.

Right then, they were tangled up together.
