The Billionaire Heir Fell for the Wrong Girl (Hathaway Whitmore) novel Chapter 182

Chapter 182 Having An Affair

After several days in the hospital, Hathaway’s body gradually regained strength. She was finally able to walk on her own again, and now it was time for her to go home.

Back in her familiar home, the place was spotless. Celeste had already changed the sheets for her. Hathaway thanked her, and after chatting for a bit, she headed to the bathroom for a shower.

This time, Hathaway lingered in the shower a bit longer.

When she finished and stepped out of the bathroom, Sylvia came over, gently combing through her hair and patiently drying her long, wet locks.

“Stay home and take it easy for a while. Don’t go anywhere,” Sylvia said softly.

Hathaway replied gently, “Okay.”

Honestly, Hathaway didn’t want to go back to work so soon either.

She slept soundly at home.

The days when Hathaway was forced to spend every waking moment with Jeremiah were the most agonizing and soul–crushing period of her life. At long last, she had managed to break free.

At home, she had three proper meals a day and took nourishing herbal soups and tonics. After a period of recuperation, her health improved significantly.

When Jeremiah called, Hathaway didn’t bother to pick up when she saw his number.

She left all his messages unanswered.

After a while, Jeremiah sent her a message: [Are you planning to ignore me forever? If you keep ignoring me, I’ll send you a little gift.]

Hathaway’s heart sank. She had a feeling this “gift” was nothing good, so she deleted the messages without hesitation.

She told Joe to grab her passport and set up a new phone line for her, so she could finally dodge Jeremiah’s endless harassment.

Joe was quick and efficient, and soon he brought her the new SIM card.

As Hathaway was about to swap out her SIM card, her phone screen suddenly flashed with a bunch of blinding, explicit photos. Scarlett and Avery tangled up together in bed.

Her eyes widened in shock, her heart instantly thrown into chaos. She was rooted to the spot, completely stunned.

“There’s no way this is real! Avery must’ve been framed!‘ Hathaway thought.

She shot a glance at the door and, with lightning–fast reflexes, wiped her phone clean of the photos.

Once she finished clearing her phone, Hathaway looked out the window. There it was, that unmistakable black luxury ride idling at the curb. Jeremiah was already outside, waiting at the Whitmore residence’s front door.

Hathaway swallowed her anger and made her way downstairs. Victor was waiting a few feet away outside the car. She hesitated for a second, then, without a word, bent down and slipped into the back seat.

The air inside the car was heavy and suffocating.

Jeremiah turned to face her, his deep eyes locking onto hers. “If you don’t want your family to find out, then come live with me, alright?”

Hathaway shot back coldly, “What makes you think those photos could threaten me? They’re all fake!”

Jeremiah smirked. “If that’s how you want to play it, I’ll let Celeste see for herself.”

Hathaway was so furious that her chest was heaving.

Jeremiah reached out, his hand brushing the back of her head as he leaned in, his possessiveness practically radiating off him.

He was about to press his lips to hers when Hathaway’s eyes flashed with pure disgust and hatred.

Before he could get any closer, Hathaway spat at him, aiming right for his face.

Jeremiah reacted instantly, grabbing his tablet and holding it up in time, so the spit missed his face by a hair.

“Guess you’ve got more than one way to spit,” Jeremiah said.

His eyes darkened more. He tossed the tablet aside, then suddenly yanked her in, trapping her between the plush cushions of the back seat, locking her in place.

He lowered his head, his nose brushing against the delicate skin of her neck, his warm breath trailing along her collar.

His strong arms wrapped around her, holding her so tight she couldn’t budge, not giving her a sliver of space to escape.

Hathaway sat up fast and threw open the car door. Behind her, Jeremiah called out with a lazy drawl, “Think it over.”
