The Billionaire Heir Fell for the Wrong Girl (Hathaway Whitmore) novel Chapter 185

Chapter 185 Names

Mary and Benson hurried to the hospital.

Mary, her eyes red, told Hathaway what had happened. Apparently, Jessica’s cousin deliberately stirred up the past in front of Celeste, saying Avery had always been infatuated with Jessica and only married Celeste because Jessica was out of reach.

As soon as Celeste heard this, her expression darkened, rage surging through her.

After a brief argument, Mary’s phone rang. While she was distracted answering it, nobody caught who struck first. In the blink of an eye, Celeste collapsed to the floor, blood pouring out.

Hathaway clenched her fists, her nails digging deep into her palms. Her temples throbbed violently, her head felt like it was about to explode. She wanted nothing more than to throw Jessica and her gang out of Bayridge.

Nina, noticing Hathaway’s pale face and tense expression, asked with concern, “Ms. Whitmore, are you alright?”

Hathaway shook her head, then spotted a figure rushing over from a distance. Avery, his suit jacket slung over his arm, sweat beading on his forehead, hurried toward them.

“Avery.” Hathaway called out, rushing to meet him.

Avery’s voice was tight with worry. “How’s Celeste?”

“She’s still in surgery.” Hathaway replied.

Just then, Sylvia and Joe rushed in. Hathaway quickly supported Sylvia, offering a few comforting words. Outside the operating room, everyone was anxiously waiting.

Once Nina saw that Hathaway’s family was all there, she quietly slipped out.

That was when Hathaway noticed Calvin was still there.

She paused, then walked over to him. “Calvin, thanks for your help today. My family’s all here now, so if you need to go, don’t worry about us.”

Calvin stayed put, unmoving.

Seeing this, Hathaway frowned.

Just then, the operating room door swung open and the doctor stepped out. Hathaway didn’t pay Calvin any mind.

The doctor smiled and said, “Both the mother and the babies are safe.”

Two nurses walked out, each cradling a newborn. “The babies were almost full-term, so everything went smoothly. Congratulations, you have a son and a daughter.”

The Jameson Family was overjoyed.

Avery carefully took one of the babies, his gaze softening as he looked at the other. The joy of being a new father was written all over his face. He quickly asked the doctor, “How’s my wife? Has she woken up yet?”

The doctor replied gently, “It was a close call, but thankfully she was brought in just in time. Her condition is stable now.”

Sylvia, beaming with joy, held the other baby. She’d already heard from Mary what had happened and thanked Calvin warmly.

Calvin gave a slight nod. “It’s nothing,” he replied.

Sylvia turned to Mary. “Mary, you and Benson, hurry up and grab all the baby stuff from home, bottles, formula, clothes, diapers. And bring the two newborn nannies we just hired.”

“Avery, go let your in-laws know,” Sylvia added.

“Got it,” Avery replied, carefully handing the baby to Hathaway. She’d just been watching the baby, but now her whole body was stiff with nerves, barely daring to hold the baby, her movements clumsy and uncertain.

Calvin, noticing how unsure Hathaway was with the baby, asked, “Want me to hold him?”

Hathaway shook her head right away.

‘I’m hopeless at this, but does he really think he’s any better?’ Hathaway thought.

Just then, the doctor said, “The twins are a bit premature, so they’re a little underweight and their immune systems are still developing. To be safe, after you’ve had a chance to see them, we’ll need to keep them in the incubator for a few days for monitoring.”

Hearing this, Sylvia and Hathaway carefully handed the babies to the nurses, watching anxiously as they were taken away for care.

When Hathaway turned around, Calvin was already gone.

Not long after, Celeste was moved to a private room to rest. She was still asleep in bed, and Avery stayed by her side the whole time.

Before long, Celeste’s Mother and the rest of Celeste’s family rushed in. When Celeste woke up and shared what she’d been through, her mom hugged her and cried for a while. After that, she stayed by Celeste’s side with Avery, taking care of her together.
