The Billionaire Heir Fell for the Wrong Girl

Chapter 195 The Video

Jessica’s heart was in turmoil. She was a proud graduate of a world–class university, yet somehow she found herself losing out to a woman whose only talent was seducing men.

Her lifelong pride and aloofness had made her let so many chances slip through her fingers.

She took a deep breath, steadying herself, and said calmly, “There’s only one month left of our six–month agreement.”

She looked up at Jeremiah, stubbornness in her voice. “Maybe this month, you’ll fall for me again. Don’t be so quick to count me out. I can’t believe I’d lose to someone so fake.”

With those words, she turned and strode away, not giving him a chance to reply.

Back in his office, Jeremiah kept his eyes on the papers in front of him, his face calm and unreadable.

When Victor walked in, he didn’t even look up. “Dump this coffee and make me a fresh one,” he said flatly.

Before heading to work, Hathaway hugged her little nephew, nuzzling his soft, chubby cheek, then hugged her niece close as well.

Celeste was used to this by now. She knew Hathaway always stopped by to hug the twins before heading out.

Today was vaccination day, so Hathaway was helping the nanny pack up all the baby stuff into a big bag.

“Hey Celeste, want me to come with you guys for the shots?” Hathaway offered.

Celeste smiled. “No need, we’ve got plenty of people. Mom’s coming too, so we’ve already got six adults.”

“Alright.” Hathaway handed the baby over to the nanny and headed out for work.

After her meeting, Hathaway called Benson and found out Celeste and the others were still at the hospital. She immediately drove over.

Just then, Sylvia and her group walked out of the hospital with the kids after their shots, and ran right into Melanie.

Melanie was at the hospital with someone to pick up her meds. Ever since Jessica, always so tough and never one to show weakness, broke down in public that day, Melanie hadn’t been able to sleep, feeling restless and gloomy all day long.

She never imagined Jeremiah could shake up the Kingsley family like this.

If only she’d known…

Jessica would’ve been better off marrying Avery in the first place.

Melanie’s eyes lingered on the sweet little ones, her smile all surface, no warmth. “Didn’t expect to run into your whole family. These two are just too cute.”

Seeing Sylvia surrounded by her kids and grandkids, Melanie felt a stab of envy she couldn’t shake off, even if she hated to admit it.

“Man, Avery really tied the knot early,” Melanie remarked.

“Wow, Sylvia, you’re already a grandma, and you’re still so young! Both a grandson and a granddaughter, too.”

Sylvia hugged the baby a little closer. She’d heard Celeste’s early delivery was all thanks to the Kingsley family. Her smile was faint, her tone distant. “Melanie, looks like you’ll be a grandma soon yourself.”

“Word is, Mr. Blackwood and your daughter are crazy about each other.”

Celeste noticed a hint of embarrassment in Melanie’s eyes.

“Yes, they truly love each other,” Celeste said with a nod.

Watching Sylvia cradle the baby so carefully, Melanie couldn’t help but sigh to herself. Jessica had always been chasing after Avery, and he definitely had feelings for her too.

Honestly, if Avery were still single, Jessica might’ve actually considered him…

But now, he’s got a whole family.
