Chapter 197 The Big Fan
On her way back, Hathaway saw that Jessica had taken to social media to admit she was the one in the terrace video.
Jessica really had no way out. Elaine saw the video first and thought it was her, getting all excited and saying it was thrilling. Then her family started bombarding her with questions, and she just couldn’t handle it anymore, so she had to come clean.
After her family finally relaxed, Jessica didn’t want people online pinning it on other women, which could mess with the company’s reputation. So she just owned up to it.
Thanks to Jessica’s “honesty,” Hathaway’s worries finally melted away, and she let out a huge sigh of relief.
After getting home, Hathaway took a shower and washed up. Feeling totally wiped out, she crashed into bed early.
The next morning, she got herself together. Her nails, usually plain and clean, were now decked out in the Red Swan series.
After breakfast, she gave her little niece and nephew a hug before heading off to work.

That evening, in a luxurious and exclusive club, the atmosphere was calm and refined.
A group of wealthy heirs and socialites lounged around, chatting casually, and as expected, the conversation kept circling back to the latest scandal.
The socialite who first took the video chimed in, “Honestly, I’m so nearsighted. I had to zoom in just to see who that woman was. But by the time I finally unlocked my phone and got the camera ready, I ended up catching her already wrapped up in Jeremiah’s arms, and they were kissing!”
When Hathaway stepped in, she thought she was in the wrong room and took a few steps back.
Evelyn came to the door, grabbed her, and made her sit beside her.
Hathaway asked, “What’s going on?”
She thought it’d just be her, Evelyn, and Leo.
But there were six girls and a bunch of guys. Leo was chilling with the guys and gave her a wave when he spotted her.
Yvonne shot Hathaway a playful look and teased, “Hathaway, you’ve totally disappeared lately. Haven’t seen you out at all.”
She turned to the others and laughed, “Back in the day, she practically lived at this club. Her brother tried everything, but he could never keep her from sneaking in.”
“For real,” someone added.
Hathaway turned to Evelyn and asked, “Why are you with this crowd?”
“My cousin’s treating everyone. She invited all of us,” Evelyn replied. “Usually, she’s so stingy she won’t even buy herself a coffee, but tonight she’s finally being generous for once.”
Hathaway thought, ‘Oh no, this is bad.”
Just as she was about to make a quick exit, Lila came back from the restroom and spotted her.
“Hattie, you’re finally here!” Lila said, pulling her into a tight hug and giving her a playful squeeze. “I heard about your car accident. I was so worried about you. I wanted to come see you, but Evelyn wouldn’t let me.”
As they chatted, a few more heirs strolled in, and soon enough, everyone was back to gossiping about that viral video.
One guy snorted, “Honestly, everything looks so fake these days, like it’s AI–generated. Jeremiah’s the kind of guy who’s always in control. You really think he’d totally lose it and make out with someone in public? I’m not buying it.”
Lila held Hathaway’s delicate hand and asked, “Hathaway, do you believe it?”
Hathaway’s face went pale. “I don’t believe it either.”
Just as they were talking, Jeremiah himself walked in.
No one expected Jeremiah to actually show up, and everyone was caught off guard. The atmosphere instantly froze. The socialite who filmed the video felt her heart race, thinking he was here to call her out. She was panicking inside.
Jeremiah ignored everyone else, but he must’ve caught what Hathaway said. He sat down right next to her and said, “If you’re all that curious, how about I show you how it’s done?”
‘This guy is insane,’ Hathaway thought, feeling the urge to run for it the moment he spoke.
If anyone caught her, she’d just play it cool and walk away, only to come back and start taking pictures again. She was like a fly you just couldn’t shake off.
