The next day, Hathaway showed up outside the Harper residence and gave Calvin a call.

When Calvin came out, Hathaway handed him the invitation with a casual smile. “I’m dropping this off. Make sure your whole family comes to the wedding celebration.”
Calvin opened the invitation with a smile. The calligraphy was elegant, with a delicate, feminine touch that flowed beautifully.
“Didn’t expect you to deliver it yourself. You must be swamped these days, huh?” Calvin said.*
Hathaway tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and smiled, “Not too bad.”
Actually, aside from the Montgomery family and the Harper family, she had the butler and her parents deliver the rest of the invitations.
As for the Harper family, she was mainly grateful to Calvin for lending her 15 million dollars in her previous life when she was at her lowest, though he knew she was so broke she couldn’t possibly pay it back.
She guessed he felt sorry for her.
They chatted for a bit longer before Hathaway got in her car and drove off.
What Hathaway didn’t see was Jeremiah standing upstairs on the second floor, quietly watching everything play out below.
Bernard, who was also on the second floor, walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window and gave Jeremiah a fawning smile. “Jeremiah, if you could give us the green light on the cultural tourism project, we can get things rolling right away.”
Jeremiah smirked and looked away.
He traced the rim of his glass with his fingers, and just then, Calvin came upstairs.
Jeremiah asked, “Why did she come over?”
Calvin replied, “She was dropping off an invitation. Maybe it was on her way.”
Bernard had no idea who they were talking about until he spotted the invitation in Calvin’s hand. “Oh, look at my memory. Avery’s getting married.”

He couldn’t help but sigh, “Look at Avery, about your age, and he’s the first one to get married. Jeremiah, Calvin, you two better hurry up.
“Jeremiah already has a girlfriend, so it looks like he’s next. Calvin, you’re the only one left. You really need to get yourself a girlfriend soon.”
Jeremiah smiled, “Mr. Harper, don’t worry. Calvin’s always been a hit with the ladies.”
Calvin toyed with the invitation, his eyes lowered as he smiled, feeling like Jeremiah was definitely dropping a hint.
Bernard laughed, “Alright, alright.”

With one day left until the wedding, Hathaway wasn’t going to the office anymore.
The Whitmore family’s hired help was busy packing wedding candies at home. Some of the relatives who had to fly in had already arrived today, and Benson was busy arranging their accommodations. Everyone in the house was running around,

Hathaway’s phone buzzed. Celeste, grinning, slid into her DMs with a secret photo of herself in her wedding dress, and made sure to tell her: [Don’t let Avery see this.]
As Hathaway looked at Celeste in that pure white gown, she couldn’t help but remember the last time she wore a wedding dress in her previous life.
But back then, it hadn’t turned out to be the dream she wanted. It was anything but a happy marriage.
She heard a cold voice in her head. “You really thought marrying me meant I’d love you? Sorry, that’s not happening. A business deal is a business deal, nothing more.”
Just then, Mary’s voice rang out. “The bride’s figure looks so graceful and beautiful in that dress.”
Mary had noticed Hathaway staring at the wedding photo on her phone, so she leaned over for a look. “Hathaway, are you thinking about getting married, too? You can’t take your eyes off that photo.”
Hathaway snapped out of it, put her phone away, and smiled. She had no intention of getting married again. But on a day like this, saying something like that would bring down the mood, so she gave a polite smile.
One of the relatives joked, “Hathaway, looks like you’re up next.”
As they were chatting, Hathaway noticed one of the helpers messing up the wedding candy bows. The ribbon was totally uneven. She stepped in and said, “Here, let me show you how to do it.”
She gave a quick demo on tying the bow the right way.
Just then, Avery walked in and saw Hathaway teaching. He grinned, “Wow, Hathaway, you really know your stuff. It’s almost like you’ve been married before.”
Everyone cracked up.
Hathaway gave a wry smile. “It’s your big day, Avery. Of course, I’m going to pay attention. If I don’t know something, I look it up online.”
“You’re the best, as always, Hathaway,” Avery said, patting her head, clearly touched.
Hathaway gave a small smile, then slipped off to the bathroom and called Aurelia.
“I need you to find a way to report Scarlett, the receptionist at Blackwood Group. Make sure she stays away from the hotel tomorrow,” Hathaway said.

At eight o’clock that evening, Melanie picked out some fresh fruit in the kitchen, washed a few, and headed upstairs to Jessica’s room.
Jessica was reading, and when she saw Melanie come in, she put her book down. “Mom.”
Seeing how peaceful and lovely Jessica looked, Melanie let out a relaxed smile.
Most trust fund kids are out there partying, but Jessica’s the rare one who’d rather stay in and read. No wonder Jeremiah couldn’t help but be interested.
“I’m not bothering you, am I?” Melanie asked.
“Not at all,” Jessica replied, shaking her head. As she got up to take the fruit plate, she noticed Elizabeth had followed Melanie in.

“Grandma, is there something you need?” Jessica asked.

“The Kingsley family didn’t get an invitation to Avery’s wedding,” Elizabeth said, her face clouded with displeasure. “But that’s fine. You can go, Jessica. Make sure you dress up and don’t let that girl outshine you.”
Of course, she was talking about Hathaway.
Elizabeth had met the Whitmore family’s youngest daughter before. She was a cute and attractive girl.
It had been years since Elizabeth last saw Hathaway. Back then, Hathaway was still a student, a few years younger than Jessica, at that age when everything feels fresh and full of promise.
She’d run into the house and greeted with a shy smile, her cheeks bright red, and even with sweat running down her face, she still looked so clean and pretty.
Melanie knew exactly what Grandma was worried about, so she said, “Jeremiah goes for women with real substance. Looks don’t get you far with him.
