The first Sunday of June was a big day. It was the wedding day of Avery, CEO of the Whitmore Group, and Celeste.

The Whitmore family’s wedding was grander than in their previous life.

In their previous life, all those jealous rumors about Avery and Jeremiah fighting over Jessica cast a real cloud/over Avery and Celeste’s wedding.

Hathaway overheard some guests whispering that Avery only married Celeste because he couldn’t get Ms. Kingsley.

That kind of talk drove both the Whitmore and Rivers families up the wall, especially Hathaway.

This time around, though, there was none of that drama, and Hathaway was over the moon.

After the ceremony, as the music shifted to a new tune, Hathaway made her way over to Lorenzo. “Lorenzo, care to dance?”

In their previous life, at Avery and Celeste’s wedding, Hathaway had asked Jeremiah for the first dance, but he turned her down.

This time, Lorenzo replied, “Sure.”

Hathaway smiled and gracefully extended her hand.

Hathaway wore a pink dress that hugged her graceful figure. Her hair was swept up, showing off her smooth, slender neck. With that pure, gentle look in her eyes, she was the natural center of everyone’s attention.

When she walked onto the dance floor with Lorenzo, the single guys from the Rivers side were all asking, “Who is she?”

Hathaway had trained in dance since she was little, so her movements were lively and elegant, her lines sharp yet soft.

With the romantic music playing, watching her dance made people’s hearts burn, stirring up a wild excitement they couldn’t explain.

Lucas stood at the edge of the dance floor, watching with a frosty stare. He swallowed, his jaw tense, fingers clenching the crystal glass so tightly that it looked like he might shatter it.

Evelyn frantically snapped photo after photo on her phone, but it still wasn’t enough. She quickly switched to video. Through her lens, Hathaway’s pink dress spun and fluttered, her gaze radiant, her beauty dazzling to the point of being

unreal.

“My Hathaway is so beautiful,” Evelyn whispered.

“Hathaway, you were amazing out there,” Evelyn called out. Glancing up from her phone, she felt the whole room swept up in the romantic atmosphere. Right then, the groom leaned down and kissed the bride in the middle of the dance floor.

In that instant, time seemed to stand still, the silence stretching on, making the moment feel endless.

“Oh my god, there’s so much going on. I can barely take it all in. Avery is so captivating tonight,” Evelyn exclaimed.

Evelyn quickly pointed her camera at the bride and groom, waiting until their kiss ended. Celeste pulled away, cheeks flushed with shyness, and only then did Evelyn resume filming Hathaway.

As the music slowed, Evelyn noticed that Lucas wasn’t the only one who couldn’t take his eyes off the dance floor. Even Jeremiah was fixated on it.

What’s with that look on Jeremiah’s face?’ Evelyn wondered, feeling a jolt of surprise.

Before she could figure out what was going on. Jessica, standing next to Jeremiah, suddenly caught her heel and stumbled.

Jeremiah quickly reached out and caught her by the wrist.

“Look at him, such a gentleman,” Evelyn couldn’t help but comment, turning her gaze back to the center of the dance floor.

Jessica, cheeks still flushed, mumbled a quick “Thanks” as Jeremiah steadied her.

“Here, let me help you sit down over there,” Jeremiah offered.

“Yeah,” Jessica murmured.

As soon as Jessica sat down, the music ended.

A few guys who’d come back from the dance floor were talking excitedly nearby. “Man, I’ve never seen anyone dance like that. She is so graceful and so full of life.”

“Ms. Whitmore is absolutely stunning out there. You can’t take your eyes off her,” another guy added.

Jessica overheard the guys next to her raving about Hathaway on the dance floor, and she shot a glance at Jeremiah.

Jeremiah acted like he hadn’t heard a thing, a faint smile playing on his lips as he grabbed a glass of water from a waiter and handed it to her.

Jessica let out a quiet sigh of relief. She barely spared a glance at Hathaway, who had stepped off the dance floor after stealing the spotlight.

Jessica didn’t see Hathaway as any kind of threat.

Sure, Hathaway was easy on the eyes, but she had nothing to offer beyond her looks. After all these years trailing after Jeremiah, she still hadn’t gotten anywhere with him. If Jessica was going to worry, it definitely wouldn’t be about her.

The one to watch out for was that woman who gave Jeremiah a ride once and somehow got promoted from a bar girl to the front desk at the Blackwood Hotel.

Not only was she striking, but her personality was something special.

Jessica couldn’t shake the feeling that she’d seen her somewhere before. But she couldn’t remember where.

Eleanor had never really thought Hathaway and Lorenzo were a good match, but now she had to admit they made quite the pair. She took Hathaway’s hand and joked with Lorenzo, “Well, looks like you managed to keep up with Hathaway after all.”

Lorenzo grinned, “Come on, Hathaway’s way too good at this. I was barely hanging on.”

Eleanor turned to Hathaway and praised her, “Hathaway, you were absolutely beautiful out there.”

“Thank you, Mrs. Blackwood,” Hathaway replied, glancing over at Avery and Celeste.

Eleanor felt a little annoyed. Hathaway wasn’t as talkative as she used to be. Back then, she’d always be linking arms with Eleanor, chatting nonstop.

But when Eleanor’s eyes landed on Jeremiah and Jessica standing nearby, it all clicked for her. Jeremiah had brought Jessica along.

All the guests here were either Whitmore or Rivers family members, and everyone knew Jeremiah and Hathaway had a bit of a messy past.

Now, with Jeremiah making it so public with Jessica, Eleanor couldn’t help but feel awkward.

Jessica was wearing a champagne-gold gown studded with pearls, the skirt cascading like liquid light. Her hair was styled into a delicate updo, making her look graceful yet captivating at first glance.

Eleanor had to admit, her son sure had good taste.

The Blackwood family never cared for a pretty face. They wanted a woman who could hold her own, raise the next generation well, and truly be her son’s confidante and partner.

Thinking that, Eleanor unconsciously let go of Hathaway’s hand.

Eleanor thought to herself, ‘Honestly, Hathaway and Lorenzo really do look good together. They’re both so young, full of that fresh, innocent energy.

Eleanor smiled and suggested, “Hathaway, you should spend more time with Lorenzo.”

Hathaway and Lorenzo exchanged a look, and Hathaway said, “I will.”

After saying that, she walked away.

Inspired by Hathaway, more and more guests started pairing up and heading to the dance floor on their own.

Just then, a handsome stranger came over and asked Hathaway for a dance.

Hathaway hesitated for a second, but right then Joe rushed over to tell her that Avery wanted her for a photo. She turned the stranger down with a smile, “Thanks, maybe next time.”

After a few rounds of drinks, the Whitmore couple and the Rivers couple were all posing for photos with the bride and groom, with Jonathan right in the middle of the group.

Hathaway joined them for a big family photo.

The wedding wrapped up with the bride and groom sharing a dance. Avery and Celeste weren’t dancers. They didn’t bother with any fancy steps, stayed wrapped in each other’s arms, slowly moving to the gentle melody.

But that simple closeness meant more than a thousand words ever could.

By the time the wedding wrapped up, Hathaway and Jeremiah were kept apart by the crowd. They never crossed paths.

All the Whitmore family’s closest friends and relatives saw Jeremiah and Jessica together.

Hathaway’s uncle was among them, and he noticed that Jessica wasn’t only graceful. Her back showed signs of real discipline, like she’d been doing dumbbell and pull-down exercises regularly.

She had a layer of lean muscle, but still maintained a delicate, slender beauty.

People like her always set high standards for themselves, especially when it came to their physique.

Maybe Hathaway looked like the kind of girl one would want to protect, soft, delicate, almost fragile.

But Jessica, being a few years older, had a mature, womanly allure that seemed to attract the attention of people in high places.

It really was a case of everyone meeting their match.
