The Billionaire’s Fight For Redemption (Noah and Sierra) novel Chapter 372

It’s been two days and still nothing. No lead. No evidence. Absolutely nothing that could tell me where Brook is or where she took my daughter.

My daughter has now been missing for about a week and having no answers is driving me fucking insane. I can’t breathe. I can’t relax. I can’t sleep. Can’t even eat knowing she’s out there. Knowing she’s in danger.

The twins are back with me but I can barely give them the attention and care they deserve because my mind is on finding their sibling. They'd seen her before she was taken and they’ve been asking to see again.

The call comes in just as I’m stepping out of the car. I don’t even need to check the screen before answering.

“Mr. Wood” the officer greets.

“What do you have for me?” I ask, my voice already tight with expectation.

“The postmortem was done. We have the preliminary results.” the officer says on the other end.

I step away from the car moving a few feet off to the side as I listen, my free hand bracing against the car.

“By the time you found him, he’d been dead for a few days.” the officer continues. “Based on the condition of the body, we’re estimating he died the same day the baby disappeared.”

My jaw tightens. By the foul smell of rotting flesh I’d already guessed he’d been killed days before we found him.

“He also had blunt force trauma to the back of the head. Looks like he was hit before the stabbing.” the officer adds.

I close my eyes briefly, processing it.

“So he was taken down first,” I mutter, more to myself than to him.

“That’s what it looks like,” the officer confirms. “Then he was stabbed eleven times.

I suck in a deep breathe. I knew that there were multiple stab wounds, that was obvious but I didn’t imagine there was that many.
