A hurried footsteps echoed through the corridor.
Logan looked up and was startled to see Scott Anderson striding toward him. He was still wearing his white coat and looked slightly out of breath, as though he had come straight from another part of the hospital without stopping.
"Doctor Scott, are you still here? I thought you were home..." Logan asked as he approached him.
"Yes," Scott replied. "I just finished a major surgery."
Although he sounded tired, his attention was already focused on the emergency room ahead.
"So, who’s the patient?" Scott asked as he continued walking.
"My master’s wife."
Almost immediately, Scott’s steps faltered. He stopped abruptly and turned to stare at Logan. Genuine shock spread across his face as he tried to process what he had just heard.
"Did you just say your master’s wife?" he asked. "Since when did Zach get married?"
Logan resisted the urge to sigh. Even in a situation like this, that was apparently the detail Scott found most shocking. Rather than answering the question, Logan simply gestured toward the emergency room.
"You can talk to her yourself, Doc. And please examine her wound while you’re at it."
Scott stared at him for another moment before turning toward the room. Although his curiosity about Zachary’s marriage was obvious, his professional instincts took over. He pushed open the door and entered the emergency room.
At the same time, Logan followed him, hoping the doctor could finally give Sienna the treatment she needed rather than just talk to her.
However, as soon as they arrived in front of Sienna’s bed, Scott’s steps slowed and then came to a stop. He stood there for a moment, studying her in silence before turning his attention to Logan beside him.
He leaned slightly toward Logan and lowered his voice. "Your master married Sienna Adams?" he asked, making sure no one else could hear.
Logan turned toward him and gave a small nod in confirmation. "Yeah. Is there a problem?" he asked.
"Of course, there was a problem!" Scott sighed heavily before continuing his words, "...You should have told me that from the start. Your master would have scolded me if I had delayed."
Without waiting for a response, he left Logan and went to Sienna’s bedside.
The nurse who had just finished cleaning Sienna’s wound was startled when she realized the hospital’s CEO was standing there. She quickly composed herself and greeted him nervously. "Oh, Mr. Anderson, I’m sorry I didn’t notice you were coming."
"It’s fine," Scott replied with a calm smile. "You did a great job here, thank you. You can leave the patient to me now." The nurse nodded at once, gathered her things, and left the room without hesitation.
Once she was gone, Scott’s attention fully settled on Sienna.
Scott recalled that she had been admitted to this hospital a week ago, but at that time, he had not seen her while she was conscious. This felt like their first encounter since what had happened years ago.
He noticed her gazing at him with a curious, confused look. However, he kept his attention on her wound as he wondered whether she still remembered him.
