The Billionaire's Insignificant Wife novel Chapter 154

Dark Revenge

In her luxurious penthouse, Margaret sat in front of her laptop with eyes fixed on the screen.

A few minutes ago, the hidden CCTV in Alina’s room displayed very clear images. Daniel hugging Alina tightly, happy because his wife was truly pregnant.

Margaret had been watching since Linda-her paid servant-sent a message that Dr. Ross had arrived in a hurry.

Something must have happened.

And Margaret didn’t want to miss anything.

She heard everything.

Every word Daniel said. Every diagnosis from Dr. Ross. Every detail of the examination.

And when Dr. Ross announced the test results-Alina was pregnant.

Margaret froze.

The wine glass in her hand almost fell.

“No,” Margaret whispered in a voice trembling between shock and rage. “THAT WOMAN CAN’T BE PREGNANT!”

The image of Daniel laughing with a voice of victory full of euphoria filled her head. A sense of panic immediately filled her chest.

“This should never have happened!”

Margaret closed the laptop hard while clenching her fists.

“That woman shouldn’t be pregnant,” Margaret muttered in a low and dangerous voice.

This wasn’t part of the plan.

Margaret had already gathered evidence-photos of Alina’s ruined condition, staff testimonies about mental instability, complete documentation that would prove that woman was unworthy as part of the Blackwood family.

Margaret’s plan was almost perfect.

Just waiting for the right time to execute. A few more steps and she could remove Alina from Daniel’s life.

But now, all of that felt useless.

“Alina is pregnant,” Margaret repeated in an increasingly loud voice. “She’s pregnant with my grandchild!”

Rage exploded in her chest like an unquenchable fire.

The pregnancy changed everything.

Alina’s position as Daniel’s wife, which had been fragile and could be destroyed-was now strengthened by the fact that she was carrying the Blackwood heir.

Daniel would be more protective. More possessive. More impossible to influence.

And most painfully-Margaret couldn’t get rid of Alina without getting rid of her own grandchild.

“DAMN IT!” she screamed while throwing the wine glass at the wall.

The glass shattered with a loud sound but not enough to ease the anger.

Margaret grabbed her phone with trembling hands and called Clarissa.

First ring. The call was immediately answered.

“Mama?” Clarissa’s voice sounded trembling on the other end. Sounded like she was holding back anger too. What’s wrong? I’m in the middle of—”

“She’s pregnant,” Margaret cut in with a voice full of urgency and rage that was almost uncontrolled. “Alina is pregnant.”

Clarissa snorted on the other end of the phone.

“I know, everyone knows. Daniel already announced that a few weeks ago.” A moment of silence. The sound of a snort could be heard on the call. “And Daniel is spoiling Alina even more because of it.”

Clarissa didn’t understand that Margaret meant to tell her Alina was only now truly pregnant. Didn’t know that the pregnancy confirmation Daniel made before was fake.

But Margaret didn’t correct Clarissa’s misunderstanding. There was no point. Because the bitter reality now was that Alina was pregnant. She was truly carrying Daniel’s child.

“Clarissa,” Margaret said in a more controlled but still tense voice. “Alina’s pregnancy will change everything. Alina’s position is now much stronger. Daniel will never get rid of her if she’s pregnant with his child. Even if we show all the evidence of mental instability-he will still keep that woman.””

“I know,” Clarissa answered in a calm tone, but full of anger. “Daniel has already shown his protective nature now. He panicked and immediately called the doctor as soon as he got home just to check on Alina.”

Her voice dropped lower.

“But that doesn’t mean we’ve already lost.”

Margaret sat on the sofa with her hand pressing her forehead.

“How can you be so calm?” she asked with frustration. “We might be too late to get rid of her. Once that baby is born, Alina will be the mother of the Blackwood heir. Her position can’t be shaken anymore.”

“It’s not too late,” Clarissa cut in with a voice that suddenly changed-there was something cold and dangerous in the tone. “I already got some photos of Alina’s condition that we need. Complete documentation of her physical and mental deterioration. And I have a plan that will solve this problem once and for all.”

Margaret raised her head.

“What plan?”

“Let me arrange it,” Clarissa answered in a tone that left no room for argument. “Mama just make sure Daniel is busy and not suspicious. I’ll handle the rest.”

“Clarissa-”

“Trust me, Ma,” Clarissa cut in again with a firmer voice. “I won’t let Alina and her baby take my and Junior’s position. Daniel belongs to us. Junior deserves to be the only heir. And I’ll make sure that happens.”

Margaret fell silent. There was something in Clarissa’s voice that made her unsure whether to feel relieved or worried.

“What’s your plan?” Margaret asked carefully. “How will you get rid of Alina?”

“Mama doesn’t need to know the details,” Clarissa answered in a tone as smooth as silk but with steel behind it.” What matters is-in the near future, the problem of Alina and her baby will be… resolved. Naturally. Without any trace leading to us.”

Margaret felt something cold creeping up her spine.

“Clarissa, I hope you’re not doing something dangerous. You need to know the limits.”

“Of course,” Clarissa answered, then the call ended.

Margaret looked at the phone in her hand with a mixed expression-relieved, worried, and something similar to fear about what Clarissa would do.

At the mansion, Clarissa stood in the empty corridor with phone in hand and a thin cold smile on her lips.

She already knew what she had to do since hearing the news of Alina’s pregnancy a few weeks ago.

And now-after Daniel confirmed it with disgusting euphoria-it was time to act.

Clarissa scrolled through contacts on her phone until she found the name she was looking for.

Dr. Marlowe.

A middle-aged female doctor who used to work at an illegal abortion clinic before quietly retiring due to licensing issues.

They met a few years ago at a charity event-and Clarissa was smart enough to maintain contact with people who were… useful in certain situations.

Clarissa pressed the call button.

Two rings before a hoarse voice answered.

“Yes?”

“Dr. Marlowe,” Clarissa greeted in a professional voice but with urgency behind it. “This is Clarissa Sterling. We met at-”

“I remember,” Dr. Marlowe cut in with a wary tone. “What do you need, Ms. Sterling?”

“I need something,” Clarissa answered while walking toward a darker corner of the corridor-making sure no one was listening. “Something… specific. And discreet.”

Brief silence.

“How specific?”

Clarissa smiled cruelly and with calculation.

“Abortifacient drugs,” she whispered in a very low but clear voice. “Powerful ones. Work quickly but look like a natural miscarriage. No traces that can be detected in blood or urine after twenty-four hours.”

Clarissa paused briefly, then continued in a colder tone.

“I want the drug not just to abort the baby, but also to damage the uterus. Permanently. So she can never get

pregnant again. Ever.”

Dr. Marlowe didn’t answer immediately. Clarissa could hear heavy breathing on the other end.

“That’s… a dangerous request, Ms. Sterling,” Dr. Marlowe finally said in a careful tone. “And risky.”

“I know,” Clarissa answered calmly. “And I’m ready to pay for your risk. Fifty thousand dollars. Cash. No traces.”

Silence again-longer this time.

“One hundred thousand,” Dr. Marlowe finally said. “And I don’t want to know what for or for whom. After I hand over the drug, we never speak again.”

Clarissa smiled wider.

“Deal,” she said with barely hidden satisfaction. “When can it be ready?”

“Two days,” Dr. Marlowe answered. “I’ll contact you to arrange pickup.”

“Good.”

The phone disconnected with a soft click.

Clarissa put the phone in her pocket and turned-her eyes falling on Daniel’s closed study door at the end of the

corridor.

She could hear Daniel’s faint voice talking with Dr. Ross inside-a voice full of instructions and orders about

Alina’s care.

Clarissa walked closer with very slow steps. Stopped right outside the door.

“You belong to me and Junior, Daniel,” she whispered in a voice only she could hear. “I won’t let Alina take you

from us.

The smile on her lips changed into something darker-more terrifying.

“Accidents happen all the time to pregnant women,” she whispered in a tone full of the promise of death.” Especially those who are already so… fragile.”

Clarissa turned and walked toward her bedroom door with light steps.

In two days, she would have the drug she needed. And in a short time-Alina would lose the baby,

Naturally.

Without a trace.
