The Billionaire's Silent Wife (Ryan and Eve) novel Chapter 180

180 The Warehouse and Leah’s Confession 3

The man shoved Eve’s phone into his pocket, then looked at Eve with mild contempt, like she was an

inconvenience.

Eve’s fear sharpened into anger.

She forced her voice steady. “Do you know what Leah did to the fixer before you?”

The man’s eyes flicked to her, impatient. “Don’t speak.”

Eve didn’t stop. “Do you know she dismissed him when he stopped being useful? Denied him his benefits?”

Leah’s

eyes narrowed slightly, amused now, as if Eve had begun an entertaining game.

Eve’s voice tightened. “Do you know how my mother died? Because of those benefits.”

Alissa went still beside her.

The man didn’t respond.

Eve swallowed, pushing harder. “If you stop being useful, she will do the same to you.”

The man’s face stayed blank.

But there was a flicker in his eyes.

Not fear.

Recognition.

Leah’s smile widened slowly. “He isn’t spineless like your father,” she purred.

Eve’s stomach turned.

Leah stepped toward the man and, without hesitation, grabbed him by the front of his shirt and kissed

him.

Not a soft kiss.

A wild, claiming kiss.

Eve froze in shock.

Alissa’s eyes widened.

The man kissed her back, hands sliding around Leah’s waist like he’d been starving for it. His earlier

professionalism cracked, replaced by hunger.

When they pulled apart, the man’s gaze softened toward Leah in a way that made Eve’s stomach sink.

He wasn’t just employed.

He was smitten.

Eve’s stomach turned. “Easy?”

Leah’s eyes hardened. “But he forced my hand.”

Eve felt the truth in Leah’s tone, no bluff, no exaggeration.

Leah meant it.

Leah looked at Alissa now, finally acknowledging her as more than decoration. “You were supposed to be leverage,” Leah said casually. “A reminder to Steven that he doesn’t get to bite without consequences.”

Alissa’s voice shook. “You’re sick.”

Leah smiled. “Thank you.”

Eve’s chest tightened. “If you don’t want Jonathan to know, your affair is short-lived.”

The man’s eyes flicked to Eve sharply, irritation returning.

Leah’s laugh was light. “Jonathan will go to jail soon.”

Eve froze. “What.”

Leah’s smile stayed bright. “Soon enough, he’ll be disgraced. He’ll be in a cell. And I’ll be free.”

Eve’s mouth went dry. “You think you can just, remove him.”

Leah’s eyes gleamed. “I don’t think. I plan.”

Eve’s voice came out strained. “Steven dragged him into the insider trading scandal.”

Leah’s expression turned almost delighted. “Steven blew the whistle.”

Eve’s breath hitched.

Leah tilted her head. “But I helped.”

Eve stared at her, horror sharpening. “Why.”

Leah’s smile thinned. “Because Jonathan is spineless.”

Eve’s jaw clenched. “He’s your husband.”

Leah’s eyes glittered with contempt. “He is a man who lets others dictate his life. He let my father dictate.

He let Steven dictate. He let the board dictate. He let everyone treat him like a puppet while he smiled and

pretended he was in control.”

Leah’s voice rose slightly, emotion flickering, not sadness, but rage at being trapped. “I’m tired of being

married to a spineless man.”

Eve stared, the madness unfolding with terrifying logic.

Leah’s eyes flashed. “I am not spineless.”

Eve swallowed hard. “You’re cruel.”

Leah’s smile returned. “Cruel is what people call women who refuse to stay behind the curtain.”

Eve’s stomach tightened. “This is about control.”

Leah’s gaze sharpened. “If I had been born a man, I would have taken over my father’s empire. Instead, I was married off to Jonathan like a bargaining chip.”

Leah’s chest rose with fierce satisfaction. “I’m done being behind the scenes.”

Eve’s voice shook. “So you’ll kill people.”

Leah smiled as if Eve were slow. “I’ll remove obstacles.”

Eve’s breath came shallow. “And then what.”

Leah’s eyes gleamed. “Once Steven and Jonathan are taken care of, I will finally live in the sun.”

The phrase sounded insane coming out of her mouth. Like she thought crime was freedom.

Eve’s mind raced.

“And Ryan,” Eve said carefully. “What about your son.”

Leah’s smile softened in a way that made Eve feel sick. “Ryan will come back to me.”

Eve’s throat tightened. “After you kill his wife and child.”

Leah laughed. “After you’re gone and Jonathan is disgraced, Ryan will have no one but me.”

Eve’s voice rose, incredulous. “You have a daughter too.”

Leah waved a hand dismissively. “She will reconcile.”

Eve went cold. “You think they’ll reconcile with you.”

Leah’s smile widened as if Eve had finally understood the brilliance. “They will only have me. They will

need me. They will come home.”

Eve stared at her, realising Leah had thought it through like a plan, not a tantrum.

In Leah’s mind, this wasn’t madness.

It was strategy.

A strategy built on blood.

Eve swallowed hard. “You are delusional.”

Leah leaned closer, eyes glittering. “And you are dying.”

A shuffling sound came from the far side of the warehouse.

More men entered.

Eve’s heart slammed.
