Meiko knew Claire occasionally sat in on these lectures, but she hadn't expected to actually run into her.
"Claire!" Meiko greeted her in perfectly fluent Solenian.
"Hello, Meiko."
Meiko flashed a warm smile. "You can just call me Meiko."
Claire's expression remained perfectly flat. "We aren't that close. Let's just stick to your last name, Ms. Fujii."
Normally, as an upperclassman, Meiko would command a bit more respect, but Claire had zero intention of offering any.
She refused to let this exchange student from Sundara gain any sort of upper hand.
Meiko found Claire impossibly stubborn.
How could she speak so bluntly?
She was incredibly rude.
"Claire." Priscilla Hastings sidled up to them.
Meiko's awkwardness was practically plastered across her face.
Claire completely ignored the exchange student, turning entirely to engage with Priscilla.
"Priscilla, did you finish the assignment the professor gave us last time?"
Priscilla gave Claire a strange look. "That's a first. Did you actually forget to do your homework?"
"No, I just wanted to remind you that the professor might do a pop quiz next class."
"Anyway, why are you crashing this traditional medicine lecture with me today?"
Priscilla was completely different from Claire; she was a die-hard clinical medicine purist.
"I came here specifically to find you," Priscilla whispered.
"Why?" Claire had no idea what she was needed for.
Couldn't they just talk during class or back at the dorm?
"My grandfather is in Cabinda. He wants to grab dinner with you."
"Winston is here?" Claire was genuinely surprised.
Mary's younger brother was also an exceptionally skilled doctor.
