The Billionaire's True Heiress From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 1603

Dane brought Claire back to the best hotel in town.

They would stay the night and head back to Cabinda tomorrow.

Lingering here was too risky; the town was too close to the border, swarming with all sorts of dangerous people.

Plus, Quinton Graves was incredibly cunning. Even wounded, he had managed to slip through their fingers.

Until that man was caught, Claire would always be in danger.

Going back to Cabinda meant she would have a much larger security detail protecting her.

Cabinda was his home turf, and Dane heavily preferred dealing with Quinton there.

Claire didn't mind heading back, but she was still worried about the girl from the salon.

"I wonder when Quinn's situation will be resolved."

Technically, it was a matter for the local police department.

But if the local cops were actually effective, Quinn wouldn't have been trapped in that salon to begin with.

"It doesn't matter when it gets resolved. Stephen definitely won't let it slide."

"I completely forgot to tell Stephen about it!" Claire slapped her forehead.

Stephen had been so focused on guarding his team, and Claire had been too starving to think about anything else during dinner.

But it was fine; she could just tell him now.

Dane caught her hand. "Why are you hitting yourself? Are you out of your mind?"

Claire wanted to argue that she was perfectly sane, but instead blurted out, "Then I'll just hit you next time."

Dane gave her a flat look. "Do I look like a punching bag to you?"

"Hitting anyone probably isn't a good idea," he added, a rare hint of hesitation in his voice.

Claire laughed. "Relax, I won't hit you."

"Alright, go inside and get some sleep. You're exhausted. Don't think about anything else tonight."

Dane gently pushed her into the room.
