Dane pulled her plate over. "Do you mind if I finish this?"
Claire stiffened. "I already ate from that."
She felt the need to remind him.
There was no way this billionaire heir was actually this frugal, right?
"It's fine. If I get a new portion, I won't be able to finish it." Dane didn't mind at all, polishing off the rest in a few bites.
Claire's face flushed. She could only count her blessings that she always ate from the side closest to her and never touched the other half.
So even though half the plate was gone, it was still perfectly clean.
Still, the level of intimacy was a bit much for her to process.
Dane looked completely unfazed. He ordered the takeout and drove Claire straight to the hospital.
Claire had fully composed herself by the time they arrived.
Seeing Karla on the phone, she held back and didn't interrupt.
Instead, Claire waved Sienna's assistant, Trixie, over for breakfast.
The young woman looked a bit bashful.
She knew Claire was Karla's niece.
It was normal for Claire to bring food for Karla, but she didn't have to do the same for her.
"I could have just eaten at the hospital cafeteria. I'm sorry for being a bother."
Karla's relatives were seriously gorgeous, looking better than half the celebrities in the entertainment industry.
Trixie couldn't help but quietly ship them.
"It's nothing, we just grabbed some extra. See what you want. We have crab rolls, crab linguine... if you don't like seafood, there's also..."
Claire noticed that Dane had packed quite a feast.
Trixie's eyes lit up. She loved crab linguine.
But the stuff was ridiculously expensive.
A single plate outside easily cost over twenty dollars, and on an assistant's meager salary, she could rarely justify the splurge.
She was usually just happy to get a taste whenever Sienna treated the staff.
