The Billionaire's True Heiress From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 887

“Heh.”

Serena laughed.

She had encountered plenty of arrogant people, and she didn't find Jocelyn's little tricks to be particularly sophisticated.

“Then you're mistaken. I never get mad at him.”

Jocelyn was a bit taken aback and turned to look at Xavier.

“Serena is right. She never gets mad at me. I'm the only one who ends up furious because of her.”

His familiar tone with her was completely different from the attitude he showed Jocelyn.

Jocelyn finally realized that Serena wasn't going to be as easy to deal with as the other female rivals she had faced in the past.

She simply couldn't compete with the fact that they had grown up together.

Even if Xavier didn't harbor romantic feelings for Serena, they knew each other inside and out.

Where there was no romance, there was still a familial bond.

And sometimes, that bond was far more stable than love.

“She has a weird temper. When we were kids, she was solely focused on studying, and now she's completely obsessed with work.”

“Jocelyn, don't talk to her, or you'll just end up making yourself angry.”

Serena listened to Xavier badmouth her, giving him a half-smile.

Her stare sent a chill down Xavier's spine. “I'm warning you, my mom is right here. Don't look at me like that! We aren't even married yet, and domestic violence is a crime!”

Jocelyn thought Xavier was being incredibly cowardly.

No matter how bad Serena's temper was, she was still just a woman. Could she really beat him in a fight?

His submissive behavior was just pathetic to watch.

“What nonsense are you sprouting? Why would Serena ever hit you?”

Xavier got a smack on the back of the head from his mother.

Lillian didn't care in the slightest that her son looked like a wimp in front of her future daughter-in-law.

Xavier had a sudden epiphany. “Oh, right! How could I forget? Ride-sharing apps are way more convenient than hailing a cab.”

“You don't need to do it. I'll order her a ride. I know her address.”

Xavier quickly booked a car for Jocelyn.

“Xavier, you don't have to wait out here with me. Just go inside, or Serena might get jealous.”

Jocelyn watched helplessly as Xavier booked the ride for her. She had no other options left.

She could only urge him to leave.

“Then you're wrong again. Anyone else might get jealous, but not Serena. She doesn't have a heart.”

Xavier thought about Serena's attitude toward him. It was as if he were nothing more than a tool for her to complete the task of getting married.

Even though he had compromised, dealing with a woman like her was still incredibly frustrating.

“How could that be? I'm sure Serena really likes you. She's probably just too shy to admit it.”

“Even though we dated in the past, that's all behind us. We're just good friends now, and I don't want her to get the wrong idea.”
