“Oh, that? My boyfriend did it,” Sandy said with a sly grin, totally unfazed. If anything, she sounded a little bit smug.
Juliana didn’t catch the challenge in Sandy’s voice at all.
Just hearing it made Juliana’s cheeks burn. Those marks were so obvious—how intense did things have to get for that?
“Didn’t you just get divorced? And you already have a boyfriend?”
“There’s no law that says a woman has to wear black for three years after a divorce.” Sandy laughed, then threw in casually, “Juliana, is your husband any good in bed? How many times a night do you two go at it?”
Juliana’s face turned beet red. “T-that’s not something you talk about!”
“Oh, come on, what’s there to be embarrassed about?” Sandy hooked her arm through Juliana’s. “My boyfriend’s amazing. Three times a night, and every single time makes me feel like I’m floating. That’s what real happiness is, you know? Don’t tell me you’ve never had… an orgasm?”
Juliana’s face went up in flames. None of her friends ever talked like this—no one was as bold or as blunt as Sandy.
But underneath the embarrassment, disappointment settled in her chest.
She really hadn’t. Not even once.
Juliana mumbled, “My husband’s pretty old-fashioned. It’s always over before it even starts.”
Sandy’s lips curled with satisfaction. Old-fashioned? The way Scott was last night nearly knocked her out.
Scott clearly wasn’t finding what he wanted at home.
If Juliana didn’t matter to Scott, it was only a matter of time before someone else took her place.
Sandy said, “Juliana, don’t stress yourself out. If your husband wants to cheat, you can’t stop him. Why suffocate him by watching his every move? That’s just going to push him away.”
“I love him,” Juliana said quietly. She knew clinging to Scott would only make him mad, but she just couldn’t stop herself.
Sandy didn’t bother arguing anymore. As long as she got pregnant with Scott’s baby, she’d take Juliana’s place soon enough.
Love was cheap, as far as Sandy was concerned. Men fell into two categories: useful and useless.
After seeing Juliana out, Sandy jumped online and started shopping for lingerie.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Bond Between Us (Anastasia and Herman)
Author pls Pls don't separate Ana and Herman once again because of Sandy. There must be an ending to Ana's sufferings!...
Yes yes yes!!! Thank you!!!...
How comes the twists are becoming uninteresting and unrealistic? Readers will prefer cleaner straight happy endings. Please don't go far beyond otherwise readers will lose interest. Time to end the story like we want it to be....
Please give us a happy ending for Anastasia and Herman with Pattie recognized as Herman's daughter, thank you!!!...
