After Celeste and Nadine left, Wynn stood frozen in place for a long time, unable to snap out of it.
It wasn't until Lilian, who was waiting in the restaurant, called to hurry her along that she finally came to her senses.
She hung up, entered the restaurant, and seeing her pale expression, Lilian asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Wynn shook her head. "No."
Her tone was faint, as if all the strength had been drained from her. Her whole demeanor was distracted and listless, as if her soul had left her body. Something was clearly off.
Lilian frowned in concern.

Not long after Celeste got home from dinner, she received a message from Trevor.
"There's an urgent matter in Glenmere. After returning to the country, I'll have to delay going back to Baumond by a few more days."
Celeste read it and took a deep breath, feeling a wave of frustration.
But given that she herself had missed their previous appointment just a couple of weeks ago, she had no grounds to lash out. Still, if there was a next time…
She tossed her phone aside and went to take a shower.
The next morning, Celeste returned to work at YodaVision as usual.
Seeing her finally back after two weeks of absence, Kieran smiled and said, "You're back?"
Celeste nodded. "Yeah."
Since Kieran started working at YodaVision, Celeste had already taken several extended leaves.
When Matthias mentioned she had personal matters to handle, Kieran had wondered what could take so long.
Now he assumed her long leave had probably been to deal with her divorce.
After all, she and her ex-husband had a child together—just negotiating custody could take ages.
He just didn't know whether she had actually finalized the divorce during this time.
Peter continued, "I've contacted Mr. Fleming and Ms. Jordyn. They've booked a flight and should be back later tonight."
Celeste replied, "Okay."
Under the circumstances, even Teagan, who disliked Celeste, didn't bother arguing with her.
After Peter finished speaking, the hallway outside the emergency room fell silent again.
The wait felt endlessly long.
Finally, the door to the emergency room opened.
Celeste, Queenie, and the others quickly rushed forward.
"Doctor, how is she?"
The doctor removed his mask and said, "She's been resuscitated, but her condition is still very unstable. Whether she can fully recover will depend on her own strength and willpower."

Here we go again…drip-drop. One page a day instead of the promised 5 Chapters and even that stops suddenly so we never know if the story will advance. I swear this author is writing the new page on their lunch break and laughing at us when we get frustrated....
I feel like reading the novel from everyone else's perspective, but the main characters. There has never been a glimpse on Trevor's side of thoughts or intentions. He feels like a ghost in this whole storyline. Although i am glad that Mathias revealed the truth about Celeste, but it still feels empty without main character's thoughts or feelings or voices being shared....

So we're going to keep going in circles atp,nothing was revealed that we didn't already know,I mean I would've at least liked to see Trevor's reaction to finding out his wife is the co-owner and coder to CUAP,find out who drugged them.Whats happening with the military blacksite,how come Celeste is so quiet she never stands up for herself.
