On the very last day of the decision period, Trevor still didn't make it back to the country.
Just like that, the divorce decision period quietly passed.
Celeste thought he'd probably return after a few more days, but the next day, while she was discussing work with Matthias, Jordyn suddenly called and said that Trevor was back.
Matthias let out a disbelieving laugh. "Seriously? Of all times, he comes right after the decision period ends? He's doing this on purpose, isn't he?"
Celeste put down her phone and didn't respond.
On purpose? Of course not. It was probably just a coincidence.
Matthias knew it too, but he couldn't help feeling irritated.
He muttered, "Why not just file for divorce directly then... Though, from filing to the first hearing, it'll take at least a month—"
Before they could continue, someone knocked on the door, and the topic was dropped for the moment.

Meanwhile, in the group chat with Trevor, Miles, Beck, and Wynn, Trevor suddenly tagged the three of them.
"Dinner tonight?"
Miles reacted first. "Wait— you're back? When did you come back?"
Trevor replied, "Just landed."
Miles sent three ellipses in a row to express his speechlessness, then followed with a long text.
"I literally called you the day before yesterday, two days before your divorce decision period ended, asking if you could make it back in time. You said no and that you'd still be tied up for a while!
"I figured you wouldn't be back anytime soon, and now here you are! Couldn't you have come back just one day earlier? The divorce decision period with Celeste's already over!"
Like Miles, Wynn had also noticed the message in the group the moment Trevor sent it. However, she just didn't say anything.
When he was abroad, she'd tried calling him several times. Maybe he was too busy or just didn't want to pick up, but he never answered any of them.
He did return one call, though.
Beck had just finished work.
When he saw the messages and realized Trevor was back, he froze for a moment before replying, "Trevor, I'm free. See you tonight."
Trevor replied, "Okay."
Wynn was actually curious to see how Trevor would respond to Miles's teasing.
But he completely ignored it—no reply at all.
Staring at the screen, Wynn gripped her phone tightly and didn't move for a long time.
Then her phone lit up.
A private message from Trevor.
"Busy?"

I feel like reading the novel from everyone else's perspective, but the main characters. There has never been a glimpse on Trevor's side of thoughts or intentions. He feels like a ghost in this whole storyline. Although i am glad that Mathias revealed the truth about Celeste, but it still feels empty without main character's thoughts or feelings or voices being shared....
Wynn's reputation is over. I read all these chapters for this moment... I'm really glad that Matthias finally said everything at once. All thanks to the fool Quinton...
So we're going to keep going in circles atp,nothing was revealed that we didn't already know,I mean I would've at least liked to see Trevor's reaction to finding out his wife is the co-owner and coder to CUAP,find out who drugged them.Whats happening with the military blacksite,how come Celeste is so quiet she never stands up for herself. All we're getting is reaction's from side character's who don't matter...
