Wynn wasn't at home, but she could pretty much guess what her family must be thinking.
She started the car, ready to drive off, when her gaze accidentally fell on the gift boxes from Trevor and the others. Then, she paused.
He hadn't proposed today, but she was still curious about what he'd given her.
Wynn picked up the gift box from Trevor and opened it.
Inside was a high-quality diamond necklace, probably worth several million dollars.
As a birthday gift, it was considered impressive even for someone like Trevor.

Compared to the gifts he used to give her—always extravagant and exceptional—this necklace felt... lacking.
Still, thinking of how he was pushing to divorce Celeste, this less-than-spectacular gift didn't bother her much.
With that in mind, she set the box aside. Her eyes landed on Beck's gift next. She hesitated, then opened it as well.
It was a bottle of red wine.

Wynn wasn't surprised. She let out a mocking little laugh, closed the box, and drove home.
Everyone was waiting for news.
The moment she came in, Linda rushed over excitedly, "Wynn, how was it? Is the diamond pretty? Hurry, show us—"
Wynn said calmly, "There was no proposal."
"N-No proposal?"
Not just Linda—everyone else froze mid-smile.
Realizing what that meant, Patricia quickly asked, "Wynn, did... something happen?"
The others also assumed she and Trevor must've had a disagreement.
Feeling better, Linda glanced at the gift boxes Wynn had carried in earlier. Curiosity got the better of her. "Wynn, are these from Trev and the others? What did they give you? Can we take a look?"
The others were also curious, but they just wouldn't ask outright.
Wynn didn't care. "Go ahead."
With that, she went upstairs.
The moment she was gone, they eagerly opened the gifts.
But after seeing what Trevor had given, they all felt a bit disappointed.
After all, Trevor had always been extremely generous.
Ruby said, "These are already pretty valuable. Besides, Wynn is going out with Trevor later anyway."
Linda agreed. "Exactly."
Lilian and Patricia weren't disappointed at all. In their eyes, given how deep Trevor and Wynn's relationship was, even if this year's gift wasn't as extravagant as before, it definitely carried his sincerity.

I feel like reading the novel from everyone else's perspective, but the main characters. There has never been a glimpse on Trevor's side of thoughts or intentions. He feels like a ghost in this whole storyline. Although i am glad that Mathias revealed the truth about Celeste, but it still feels empty without main character's thoughts or feelings or voices being shared....

So we're going to keep going in circles atp,nothing was revealed that we didn't already know,I mean I would've at least liked to see Trevor's reaction to finding out his wife is the co-owner and coder to CUAP,find out who drugged them.Whats happening with the military blacksite,how come Celeste is so quiet she never stands up for herself. All we're getting is reaction's from side character's who don't matter...
