Maybe because he noticed Wynn was distracted, Trevor asked, "What's wrong?"
Wynn smiled. "Nothing."
He didn't press further.
Miles and Beck hadn't noticed anything off and continued their earlier conversation.
After dinner, as time ticked on and it became clear that everyone was preparing to leave, the surprise she'd been waiting for still hadn't appeared.
Wynn's heart kept sinking, though she still held onto a sliver of hope.
But once Trevor called the waiter over to settle the bill, and it was obvious that they were truly leaving the restaurant with no other arrangements afterward, her sinking heart finally turned cold.
She stood frozen in place.
"Wynn?"
This time, it was Jordyn who noticed something was wrong first.
Before Wynn could respond, Trevor turned around after hearing Jordyn's voice, concern in his eyes. Her heart eased a little instantly.
Back home, everyone had simply assumed he bought an astronomical diamond to propose tonight, but no one had actually heard anything confirming that he would propose tonight.
They had all read too much into it.
And even though he hadn't proposed today like everyone imagined, it didn't mean their relationship had changed.
Trevor asked, "Are you okay?"
Wynn snapped back. "I'm fine."
Once she thought it through, she felt much better. Though it didn't stop that faint disappointment from lingering.
Still... He had taken the initiative to ask Celeste for a divorce again, which meant he still cared about her the same way.
They had time. She could wait.
Jordyn had attended a bunch of classes these past two days and was clearly tired.
It was already after eight in the evening. Once they stepped out of the restaurant, she yawned, raising her arms toward Trevor.
He picked her up immediately.
It was another message from Linda.
"Wynn, how is it going now?"
Wynn glanced at it and set the phone aside without replying.
When Linda first told her about the diamond and the proposal, she had been overwhelmed with excitement and surprise. She'd been anticipating tonight's "surprise" all day.
Even though she wasn't in a terrible mood now, if Trevor had really proposed tonight, she'd—
If Linda hadn't mentioned it again, it would've been fine. But now that she brought it up, the emotional gap hit her hard.
And it wasn't just Linda waiting for an update.
The rest of the Lockets and the Shaws were waiting too.
Seeing that Linda was the one probing for news, they all turned toward her.
When she saw Wynn hadn't replied, she smiled meaningfully. "Wynn hasn't responded... Probably because she's busy—"

The readers' comments on the novel: The Breaking Point of Love (Celeste and Trevor)
I feel like reading the novel from everyone else's perspective, but the main characters. There has never been a glimpse on Trevor's side of thoughts or intentions. He feels like a ghost in this whole storyline. Although i am glad that Mathias revealed the truth about Celeste, but it still feels empty without main character's thoughts or feelings or voices being shared....
Wynn's reputation is over. I read all these chapters for this moment... I'm really glad that Matthias finally said everything at once. All thanks to the fool Quinton...
So we're going to keep going in circles atp, nothing was revealed that we didn't already know,I mean I would've at least liked to see Trevor's reaction to finding out his wife is the co-owner and coder to CUAP,find out who drugged them.Whats happening with the military blacksite, how come Celeste is so quiet she never stands up for herself. All we're getting is reaction's from side character's who don't matter...
Yes.. I'm looking forward to the upcoming chapters......
I don't really understand the writer. Why are Trevor and Celeste silent now? Isn't it about them?...
Who the helly is georgette 😆...
Alas..the truth that has been buried since…is prevailing....
I just love how tables have turned....
About time… now where’s Trevor, Harvey’s and the others public shame???...
After this moment, the day of the downfall of the Shaw and Lockett families began....
