Beck was, of course, there that night for Celeste.
When he saw her, his gaze fell on her face, and he said gently, "Long time no see."
They had actually met just last month at a government-hosted conference for corporate representatives. Celeste didn't think it had been that long.

She and Trevor were not officially divorced yet. Seeing that the look on Celeste's face toward him was one that was more than just a business partner, yet not quite that of a friend, Beck lowered his eyes and smiled.
He only talked to her about work matters, and in order not to disturb her too much, he didn't say a single unnecessary word.
Celeste was quite busy. After chatting with Beck for a while, she left with Matthias to speak with other people.
Beck watched her back, his gaze lingering for a long time before he finally looked away.
Celeste remained focused on work and barely paid any attention to Wynn and her companions.
But Wynn and her group had most of their attention fixed on her.
Matthias was currently a highly sought-after, eligible bachelor. There were countless women at the event who wanted to get close to him, but he basically gave none of them the chance, staying almost inseparably by Celeste's side.
Seeing this, Linda and Ruby felt sour inside, yet they had to admit that Matthias truly cared a great deal about Celeste.
Lilian's hand gripping her wine glass tightened slightly, imperceptibly.
When the banquet was about to end, as Celeste and Matthias were leaving, her gaze brushed past Wynn and her group before she indifferently looked away, not sparing them another glance.
But in Linda's eyes, that look was full of contempt and smugness.
Linda was furious. "What does she have to be smug about? Let's see how long she can stay smug!"
Matthias was utterly devoted to her, and Trevor's attention was now also on her. Watching them grow anxious and unsettled because Trevor's heart seemed to be shifting toward Celeste—
How could Celeste not feel smug?
If Wynn failed to win Trevor's heart back, Celeste would only become even more smug.
She clenched her hands tightly.
In fact, she was even more anxious than they were.
The next morning, Wynn appeared at Fleming Group.
At that moment, Trevor was in his office reviewing documents. When he saw her, he paused slightly. "Why are you here?"
Wynn smiled faintly. "It's been a while since I've seen you. I just wanted to come and see you."
After speaking, she glanced at the documents in his hands and asked, "Are you very busy?"
Trevor closed the file and said, "Yes, I have a meeting soon."
Wynn smiled and said, "It's fine. I'll wait for you."

I just need an effing glimpse to what goes around in Trevor's mind. Author - do something about it please There is not even a single mention about what Trevor really wants - interested in Celeste? If yes, then why there is no reaction on seeing people courting Celeste...
I love the story bt really death slow... Y cant you post 5 to 10 chapters per day????...
This reads like a daily diary account...and not a story with a planned plotline. Author, we would share if you took the time to start developing the story, rather than dragging it out with outlines. no depth, no character development, not even the overused tropes are present, just a daily itinerary. We want you to do well..but you have to put the work in making it a viable story...
The storyline is moving painfully slow.. Will we ever get to hear Trevor's side of story? Currently the mixed signals from Trevor are just confusing and frustrating. He is using Jordyn to postpone the divorce and side by side ignoring Wynn to the level that he didnt invite her to the Fleming group banquet. But when asked about clarifying divorce to Jordyn, he is not doing so. Awfully frustrating...
Team beck or Caleb. Trevor has wynn saved his contact as 'babe', kissing her in office and spending nights with her. How in initial chapters Trevor pushed jordyn towards wynn without caring about a mother's feelings. Now he is two timing, suddenly interested in Celeste after knowing background and leaving wynnn behind. Spineless man. He knows cels history with her father, still chose to support them. I don't how people are rooting for cel and Trevor. I wish truth comes out. Cel deserves someone who loves her with whole heart. She thrives in her field. Beck saw cel when she was not famous. But Caleb is good option too. I hope Celeste grows spine starts to demand explaination for dragging divorce....
Author - dont you think the story has been dragged as is? Now, you want to include the angle of Wynn being pregnant as well? God, i really want to know Trevor side of story, why is he playing both sides?...
Are they going to compromise for Jordyns sake? I'll be sad for Celeste if that happens. Why is author giving mixed signals in almost every alternate chapter? Initially Trevor and Wynn were always appearing together along with huge PDA, then Trevor seems involved with Celeste - when she was under alcohol influence, then Trevor seemed to be ignoring Wynn - all the while divorce proceedings are still on and now Jordyn is getting depressed because of their situation. Feels like we are just roaming around the bush or the author is making us do that. Sigh!!...
I don't understand where this story is headed to.. I can't seem to know what Trevor is thinking, in late 500 chapters, he was seen dodging the divorce, ignoring Wynn and now at 624, he is planning on how to tell Jordyn about the divorce. This is messed up!...
