Celeste paused for a moment, then said, "Alright. But after you look at it, you have to put it back, okay? This isn't something to play around with. It wouldn't be good if it got lost."
If they didn't have the marriage certificate, she and Trevor would have to reapply for one before they could divorce. That would be quite troublesome.

After that, she hung up and had someone send her to the Rodriguez residence.
Celeste, meanwhile, returned to continue chatting with the others. After talking for a while longer, the group set off together for dinner.
When everyone was about to take their seats, Trevor once again took the initiative to walk over and sit beside Celeste.

"Have you showered yet? Are you staying over here tonight?"
"I'm fine with anything. What about you, Mom?"
Before Celeste could answer, Jordyn added, "Mom, I want you to come home and stay. You haven't lived at home for a long time."
Before Celeste could respond, she continued, "Mom, where are you working now? If your company is far away, can't Dad just drive you to work?"
Celeste was momentarily at a loss for words. After a pause, she said, "Your dad is busy with work too..."
Jordyn replied, "Then when Dad is busy, you can come stay here."
Trevor smoothly changed the topic and asked, "Do you want Dad to come pick you up and take you home now?"
Jordyn pouted and didn't say anything.
Seeing her silence, Trevor continued, "Then stay there tonight and keep your mom company. I'll have someone send your backpack over tomorrow morning."
Jordyn still didn't speak, but she lifted her head and looked at Celeste.
She had missed the days when Celeste was at home for a long time now.
She had always wanted Celeste to come back.
But her mother always said she was busy...
Today, she had cried when she thought they might already be divorced.
Thinking of this, Jordyn reached out to hold Celeste's hand and said softly, somewhat sullenly, "I want to go back tonight, but... Mom, I want you to come back with me."
Hearing her words, Trevor fell silent.

I know everyone will not agree with me and I also know that Trevor is a trash and all but I want Trevor and Celeste to get back together. They should be the end game and for that to happen Trevor should start working hard for that second chance....
So we're going to go on for another 15 chapter's about jordan's temper tantrum with neither of the parents asking her what's wrong..stop milking it. The only reason i'm still reading is because i cant leave a book unfinished. What I'm pissed about is the book started with promise and turned into a circus....
The story should just come to an end and the writer should give their reader the closure they deserve. There's no point in keeping the story going. It's been the same since the start. Not has changed. The initial story plot was, that Celeste and Trevor are getting devorce and still after 800 + chapter, they are still heading for a devorce....
Don’t Shaws and Lockets reflect ever on themselves? Every difficult situation, they look forward to Wynn to ask for Trevor to help. Initially the focus of the novel was on how Wynn is so accomplished blah blah and now - she is just a useless person, incapable of anything. Irritating storyline...
I'm starting to get bored and I can't predict exactly where the story is headed....

I am again fed up with the storyline..it is just exhausting to keep reading only one side of story - where people are living in their own righteous bubble and assumptions....
