Jorge wondered how Celeste had helped his father.
What kind of help could Celeste possibly have given his father?
Theodore had never mentioned this to him, and Jorge couldn't help asking, "What was it?"
Theodore curled his lips. "It has nothing to do with you."
Just then, the sound of cars came from outside.
Apart from Helena Saunders, Theodore's wife, who had just gotten home from work, Zachary and Harold had also arrived.
This was Celeste's first time meeting Helena.
Celeste and Matthias stood up to greet her.
Although it was Helena's first time seeing Celeste in person, she already knew quite a lot about her.
Smiling, she patted Celeste's hand and said gently, "I've heard Teddy mention you before and wanted to meet you for some time. Today I finally get to see you in person. I didn't expect you to be even more beautiful in real life than on television."
Celeste felt a little embarrassed. "You flatter me."
Jorge frowned again.
He hadn't known that his mother was also familiar with Celeste, and judging by her reaction, she seemed to genuinely like her.
After everyone took their seats, Helena looked at Jorge, who was frowning in thought.
Though she knew what he was puzzled about, like her husband, she had no intention of explaining anything to him. She merely said, "Don't just stand there. Pour some tea for the guests."
"Yes."
Theodore had invited Celeste and the others to dinner not only to thank Celeste and Zachary for their help, but also to take this opportunity for everyone to spend some time together.
With so many of them gathered, it wasn't appropriate to discuss too many classified matters related to the military base, but they could still talk about the current domestic and international political and business landscape.
Celeste frequently went to the base and naturally had a certain level of understanding of these topics.
When everyone discussed these issues, she was able to contribute to the conversation as well.
Thinking of the relationship between Celeste and Trevor, Helena paused. Seeing that Celeste didn't mind, she continued, "Trevor."
Jorge could understand praising Matthias and Trevor as outstanding, but why did Celeste also deserve to be included?
When Helena said this, she also glanced at her own son and let out a soft sigh.
Jorge was speechless.
All evening, his brows had hardly relaxed at all.
Was he really that bad?
This gathering was mostly carried by the elders, Celeste, and Matthias.
Jorge barely had a chance to speak. He stayed to the side, pouring tea and listening, like a background prop.
Toward the end of the conversation, Helena smiled and said, "I haven't seen Caleb in quite some time. If Caleb were here, it would be even livelier."
At the mention of Caleb, Celeste's hand paused slightly as she lifted her teacup.

I just need an effing glimpse to what goes around in Trevor's mind. Author - do something about it please There is not even a single mention about what Trevor really wants - interested in Celeste? If yes, then why there is no reaction on seeing people courting Celeste...
I love the story bt really death slow... Y cant you post 5 to 10 chapters per day????...
This reads like a daily diary account...and not a story with a planned plotline. Author, we would share if you took the time to start developing the story, rather than dragging it out with outlines. no depth, no character development, not even the overused tropes are present, just a daily itinerary. We want you to do well..but you have to put the work in making it a viable story...
The storyline is moving painfully slow.. Will we ever get to hear Trevor's side of story? Currently the mixed signals from Trevor are just confusing and frustrating. He is using Jordyn to postpone the divorce and side by side ignoring Wynn to the level that he didnt invite her to the Fleming group banquet. But when asked about clarifying divorce to Jordyn, he is not doing so. Awfully frustrating...
Team beck or Caleb. Trevor has wynn saved his contact as 'babe', kissing her in office and spending nights with her. How in initial chapters Trevor pushed jordyn towards wynn without caring about a mother's feelings. Now he is two timing, suddenly interested in Celeste after knowing background and leaving wynnn behind. Spineless man. He knows cels history with her father, still chose to support them. I don't how people are rooting for cel and Trevor. I wish truth comes out. Cel deserves someone who loves her with whole heart. She thrives in her field. Beck saw cel when she was not famous. But Caleb is good option too. I hope Celeste grows spine starts to demand explaination for dragging divorce....
Author - dont you think the story has been dragged as is? Now, you want to include the angle of Wynn being pregnant as well? God, i really want to know Trevor side of story, why is he playing both sides?...
Are they going to compromise for Jordyns sake? I'll be sad for Celeste if that happens. Why is author giving mixed signals in almost every alternate chapter? Initially Trevor and Wynn were always appearing together along with huge PDA, then Trevor seems involved with Celeste - when she was under alcohol influence, then Trevor seemed to be ignoring Wynn - all the while divorce proceedings are still on and now Jordyn is getting depressed because of their situation. Feels like we are just roaming around the bush or the author is making us do that. Sigh!!...
I don't understand where this story is headed to.. I can't seem to know what Trevor is thinking, in late 500 chapters, he was seen dodging the divorce, ignoring Wynn and now at 624, he is planning on how to tell Jordyn about the divorce. This is messed up!...
