Matthias's parents didn't sound like they were just being polite when they talked about Celeste. They genuinely seemed to be fond of her.
That surprised Narcissa. She frowned as she couldn't understand why they liked Celeste so much.
Sure, Celeste had published a few impressive academic papers and did seem capable, but there were plenty of people more outstanding than her. No matter how she looked at it, Celeste didn't seem like the ideal choice as their daughter-in-law.
Not long after Narcissa left, Matthias received a call from her older brother, Nathan Lackspur.
"I've already heard about what happened between my sister and Ms. Rodriguez. This matter was indeed Cissa's fault.
"To express our apology, I'd like to invite the two of you to dinner and let Cissa apologize properly to Ms. Rodriguez in person. May I ask if you are free?"
Like his sister, Nathan believed neither Matthias nor Celeste truly wanted to miss out on their project. In his view, once Celeste had vented her anger, Matthias would naturally move forward with cooperating with them.
And since Celeste had already made things difficult for his sister, even if she still held some grudges, she should be willing to put their personal grievances aside temporarily for the sake of cooperation.
So, although Nathan framed the dinner as an apology, what he really wanted was to discuss the cooperation with Matthias.
He didn't say it outright, but how could Matthias not understand his purpose?
Instead of contacting Celeste directly to solve the issue, they had approached him because they assumed he could make Celeste compromise for the sake of YodaVision.
Matthias smiled lightly. "Sorry, but the conflict between your sister and Cel isn't something I'm personally involved in. So, I can't make decisions on her behalf.
"If you want to mediate, it's better to speak to Cel directly. I wouldn't want to overstep."

Nathan laughed softly to himself, thinking Celeste really did have quite a temper. He could understand that much.
But in his opinion, it was a little too personal for her to cling so stubbornly to this issue, and she couldn't separate work from private matters.

"Mr. Lackspur, I've received your apology, but I don't accept it. Likewise, even if your sister personally apologizes to me, I still won't accept it."
Before Nathan could continue, Celeste added, "I still have work to do. Goodbye, Mr. Lackspur."
With that, she hung up directly before Nathan could respond.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Breaking Point of Love (Celeste and Trevor)
Wait do even Trevor’s friends didn’t know her relationship with Wynn? Did Trevor know?...
The uncovering of truth feels like a kid is peeling an onion layer by layer at extremely slow speed.. Truly exhausting...
Now how will Wynn and Lockett justify this? We've uncovered everything; we must finish this now, immediately....
I feel like the only thing to calm the issue is Zachary showing up and explaining she has been his student for the past 7 years. But doubt that will happen...
This is exhausting! Even with the truth spilled why are we so focused on the nonessential characters assumptions and opinions. This is spending not enough time on the MC. The ping pong of revelations and denial with corrections. Same exhausting pattern 😭😡...
I still feel we are too far from the closure..Author is just playing with us by updating the chapters excruciatingly slow and then with every chapter - revolving around the bush. People are still finding reasons to defend Wynn. I am afraid, the author will again leave the readers hanging, letting the rest of the story unfold after probably 1000 more chapters...
One chapter?! After 4 days of no updates 🤯...
This is Sisa, I want to put her underground... What kind of talk is this, man? She's taking advantage of Jordyn being here....
Y no updates... Frustrated...
The one-page updates have stopped again. It’s been 4 days since the last one-page update. There never was a promised 5 chapter update in the history of this story. It has been dribbled out, line-by-line for a very, very long time. Please end our torture and finish this story....
