Trevor had once again spoken up for Celeste, leaving Miles, Wynn, Lilian, and the others even more stunned.
Wynn stared blankly at Trevor.
Narcissa was equally shocked. She had never expected Trevor to take Celeste's side at such a crucial moment.

The moment Narcissa said this, everyone immediately understood what she was implying.
"So, Mr. Fleming defended Celeste just now because their daughter was here?"
"Probably. I've heard Mr. Fleming absolutely dotes on his daughter. He usually keeps her by his side, too. No matter how terrible Celeste might be, she's still his daughter's mother. Mr. Fleming probably doesn't want his daughter to find out that her mother is supposedly that kind of person. He doesn't want it to affect the child's upbringing."
"But that means Ms. Locket is the one who's being sacrificed."
"Exactly. She already spent all these years carrying the 'other woman' label because Mr. Fleming couldn't get a divorce. And now, between his daughter and Ms. Locket, he's chosen his daughter again..."
The crowd buzzed with discussion.
After hearing Narcissa's words, Quentin and Jorge naturally understood what she meant as well. They then looked at Celeste with cold eyes. It seemed they had underestimated just how shameless and ruthless Celeste could be.
At the same time, Quentin felt even more sorry for Wynn.
Miles stared at him. "Huh? What do you mean?"
Beck didn't answer. He simply kept his eyes on Trevor. For some reason, he found himself unable to figure out what Trevor was thinking right now.
Jorge's expression was cold.
Hearing the murmurs around them, Linda and her family finally breathed a sigh of relief.
So did Wynn. The hands she'd been gripping tightly slowly relaxed.
Narcissa looked at Celeste and Matthias and gave a mocking smile. "The truth can't be faked. Ms. Rodriguez, Mr. Yoder, do you two have anything else to say?"

Somehow i am relieved today to see no updates than to be disappointed with yet another irritating show of everyone else's POV but the main characters...
I know everyone will not agree with me and I also know that Trevor is a trash and all but I want Trevor and Celeste to get back together. They should be the end game and for that to happen Trevor should start working hard for that second chance....
So we're going to go on for another 15 chapter's about jordan's temper tantrum with neither of the parents asking her what's wrong..stop milking it. The only reason i'm still reading is because i cant leave a book unfinished. What I'm pissed about is the book started with promise and turned into a circus....
The story should just come to an end and the writer should give their reader the closure they deserve. There's no point in keeping the story going. It's been the same since the start. Not has changed. The initial story plot was, that Celeste and Trevor are getting devorce and still after 800 + chapter, they are still heading for a devorce....
Don’t Shaws and Lockets reflect ever on themselves? Every difficult situation, they look forward to Wynn to ask for Trevor to help. Initially the focus of the novel was on how Wynn is so accomplished blah blah and now - she is just a useless person, incapable of anything. Irritating storyline...
I'm starting to get bored and I can't predict exactly where the story is headed....
Beck being the only actual adult to ask a child what’s wrong...
